Let us praise God with a new song and proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Let us glorify Him at all times for He is our God and we are His people and the sheep of His flock.

Who was kind to us, renewed us, and brought us out of the darkness into the light; who delivered us from death and granted us the salvation from the slavery [of the Devil]; who enlightened the darkness of deception in us through the Coming of His only-begotten Son in the flesh.

Our Lord, Jesus, came to Nazareth and as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah.

And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

We believe and testify to You, O our Master, and we ask You to grant us the forgiveness of our sins, and confirm us in the true faith in the Holy Trinity.

As You were with our fathers, the honored Apostles, and the righteous and the just, and the pure martyrs who have shed their blood for the sake of Christ’s name and were granted the enlightened crowns, and the cross-bearers.

Likewise, we the weak and sinful, we entreat You O God, the Lover of Mankind: bless the crown of this year with Your goodness, purify us from every defilement of body and spirit, and make us worthy to partake of Your indescribable good things—salvation to our souls, bodies and spirits.

So that with a pure heart and an enlightened soul, we may dare with boldness, without fear, to cry out to You, O holy Father, who is in the heavens, saying,

“Our Father...”
