EfnotiⲪ̀ϯ empeⲙ̀ⲡⲉ ehliϩ̀ⲗⲓ navⲛⲁⲩ erofⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ enehⲉ̀ⲛⲉϩ pimonogeneesⲡⲓⲙⲟⲛⲟⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ ennotiⲛ̀Ⲛⲟⲩϯ fee-etkeeⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲭⲏ khenϧⲉⲛ kenfⲕⲉⲛϥ empefiotⲙ̀Ⲡⲉϥⲓⲱⲧ EnthofⲚ̀ⲑⲟϥ petafsaji.ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ.
No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
اَللَّهُ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ قَطُّ. اَلاِبْنُ الْوَحِيدُ الَّذِي هُوَ فِي حِضْنِ الآبِ هُوَ خَبَّرَ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ thaiⲑⲁⲓ teⲧⲉ timetmethreϯⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ YoanneesⲒⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ hoteϩⲟⲧⲉ etavoworpⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ harofϩⲁⲣⲟϥ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ nioudaiⲛⲓⲒⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ khenϧⲉⲛ YerousaleemⲒⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ enhanoweebⲛ̀ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲏⲃ nemⲛⲉⲙ hanleviteesϩⲁⲛⲗⲉⲩⲓⲧⲏⲥ hinaϩⲓⲛⲁ entoushenfⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩϣⲉⲛϥ jeϫⲉ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ nim.ⲛⲓⲙ.
Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?
وَهَذِهِ هِيَ شَهَادَةُ يُوحَنَّا حِينَ أَرْسَلَ الْيَهُودُ مِنْ أُورُشَلِيمَ كَهَنَةً وَلاَوِيِّينَ لِيَسْأَلُوهُ:
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ afowonhⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ empefgolⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϫⲱⲗ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afowonh:ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ:
He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ.
«مَنْ أَنْتَ؟» فَاعْتَرَفَ وَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ وَأَقَرَّ أَنِّي لَسْتُ أَنَا الْمَسِيحَ.
jeϫⲉ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ anⲁⲛ peⲡⲉ Pi-ekhristos.Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
And they asked him, What then?
فَسَأَلُوهُ: «إِذاً مَاذَا؟
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ avshenfⲁⲩϣⲉⲛϥ jeϫⲉ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ peⲡⲉ EeliasⲎ̀ⲗⲓⲁⲥ pegafⲡⲉϫⲁϥ jeϫⲉ emmonⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ peⲡⲉ pi-eprofeeteesⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ aferowoⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ jeϫⲉ emmon.ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲛ.
Are you Elijah? He said, I am not. Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No.
إِيلِيَّا أَنْتَ؟» فَقَالَ: «لَسْتُ أَنَا». «أَلنَّبِيُّ أَنْتَ؟» فَأَجَابَ: «لاَ».
PegoouⲠⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ nafⲛⲁϥ oun:ⲟⲩⲛ:
Then they said to him, Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us?
فَقَالُوا لَهُ:
jeϫⲉ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ nimⲛⲓⲙ hinaϩⲓⲛⲁ entenjemepshiniⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲛϫⲉⲙⲡ̀ϣⲓⲛⲓ ennee-etavtaowonⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲛ ouⲟⲩ petekgoⲡⲉⲧⲉⲕϫⲱ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ethveetk.ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲕ.
What do you say about yourself? He said:
«مَنْ أَنْتَ لِنُعْطِيَ جَوَاباً لِلَّذِينَ أَرْسَلُونَا؟
PegafⲠⲉϫⲁϥ jeϫⲉ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ peⲡⲉ ti-esmeeϯⲥ̀ⲙⲏ etoshⲉⲧⲱϣ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ hiϩⲓ epshafeⲡ̀ϣⲁϥⲉ jeϫⲉ soutenⲥⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛ pimoitⲡⲓⲙⲱⲓⲧ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ EpshoisⲠ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅ emefreetiⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ etafgosⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲥ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ Eesa-iasⲎ̀ⲥⲁⲓ̀ⲁⲥ pi-eprofeetees.ⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
I am `The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord, ' as the prophet Isaiah said.
مَاذَا تَقُولُ عَنْ نَفْسِكَ؟» قَالَ: «أَنَا صَوْتُ صَارِخٍ فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ:
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ neⲛⲉ avoworpⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ peⲡⲉ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ khenϧⲉⲛ nifariseos.ⲛⲓⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ.
Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees.
قَوِّمُوا طَرِيقَ الرَّبِّ كَمَا قَالَ إِشَعْيَاءُ النَّبِيُّ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ avshenfⲁⲩϣⲉⲛϥ evgoⲉⲩϫⲱ emmosⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ nafⲛⲁϥ jeϫⲉ ethveouⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ektiomsⲕ̀ϯⲱⲙⲥ isjeⲓⲥϫⲉ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ anⲁⲛ peⲡⲉ Pi-ekhristosⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ outheⲟⲩⲇⲉ EeliasⲎ̀ⲗⲓⲁⲥ outheⲟⲩⲇⲉ pi-eprofeetees.ⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
And they asked him, saying, Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?
وَكَانَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ مِنَ الْفَرِّيسِيِّينَ فَسَأَلُوهُ:
AferowoⲀϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ̀ noouⲛⲱⲟⲩ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ YoanneesⲒⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ efgoⲉϥϫⲱ emmos:ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ:
John answered them, saying,
«فَمَا بَالُكَ تُعَمِّدُ إِنْ كُنْتَ لَسْتَ الْمَسِيحَ وَلاَ إِيلِيَّا وَلاَ النَّبِيَّ؟» أَجَابَهُمْ يُوحَنَّا:
jeϫⲉ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ tiomsϯⲱⲙⲥ emmotenⲙ̀ⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ khenϧⲉⲛ oumoouⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ efohiϥ̀ⲟ̀ϩⲓ eratfⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ khenϧⲉⲛ tetenmeetiⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲏϯ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ fee-etetensoounⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ an.ⲁⲛ.
I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.
«أَنَا أُعَمِّدُ بِمَاءٍ وَلَكِنْ فِي وَسَطِكُمْ قَائِمٌ الَّذِي لَسْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَهُ.
Fee-ethneeouⲪⲏⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ menensoiⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲓ fee-eteⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉ enti-emepshaⲛ̀ϯⲙ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲁ anⲁⲛ hinaϩⲓⲛⲁ entatiowoⲛ̀ⲧⲁϯⲟⲩⲱ̀ enoumouserⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲥⲉⲣ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ pefthooui.ⲡⲉϥⲑⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀.
It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.
هُوَ الَّذِي يَأْتِي بَعْدِي الَّذِي صَارَ قُدَّامِي الَّذِي لَسْتُ بِمُسْتَحِقٍّ أَنْ أَحُلَّ سُيُورَ حِذَائِهِ».
NaiⲚⲁⲓ avshopiⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ khenϧⲉⲛ BeethaniaⲂⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ himeerϩⲓⲙⲏⲣ empiordaneesⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲒⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ pimaⲡⲓⲙⲁ enareⲉⲛⲁ̀ⲣⲉ YoanneesⲒⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ tiomsϯⲱⲙⲥ emmof.ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
هَذَا كَانَ فِي بَيْتِ عَبْرَةَ فِي عَبْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ حَيْثُ كَانَ يُوحَنَّا يُعَمِّدُ.
EpefrastiⲈ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲥϯ theⲇⲉ afnavⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ eieesousⲉ̀Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ efneeouⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ harofϩⲁⲣⲟϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ pegafⲡⲉϫⲁϥ jeϫⲉ isⲓⲥ pihieebⲡⲓϨⲓⲏⲃ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ EfnotiⲪ̀ϯ fee-ethna-oliⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲱ̀ⲗⲓ emefnoviⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ empikosmos.ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
وَفِي الْغَدِ نَظَرَ يُوحَنَّا يَسُوعَ مُقْبِلاً إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: «هُوَذَا حَمَلُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي يَرْفَعُ خَطِيَّةَ الْعَالَمِ.
FaiⲪⲁⲓ peⲡⲉ fee-etaigosⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲥ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ethveetkⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲕ jeϫⲉ efneeouϥ̀ⲛⲏⲟⲩ menensoiⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲓ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ ouromiⲟ̀ⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ e-afershorpⲉ̀ⲁ̀ϥⲉ̀ⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ eroiⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲓ jeϫⲉ oushorpⲟ̀ⲩϣⲟⲣⲡ eroiⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲓ roⲣⲱ pe.ⲡⲉ.
This is He of whom I said, `After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.' I did not know Him;
هَذَا هُوَ الَّذِي قُلْتُ عَنْهُ يَأْتِي بَعْدِي رَجُلٌ صَارَ قُدَّامِي لأَنَّهُ كَانَ قَبْلِي.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ naiso-ounⲛⲁⲓⲥⲱⲟ̀ⲩⲛ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ anⲁⲛ peⲡⲉ allaⲁⲗⲗⲁ hinaϩⲓⲛⲁ entefowonhⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥⲟ̀ⲩⲱ̀ⲛϩ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ empisra-eelⲙ̀ⲡⲒⲥⲣⲁⲏ̀ⲗ ethveⲉⲑⲃⲉ faiⲫⲁⲓ a-iⲁⲓⲓ̀ eti-omsⲉ̀ϯⲱ̀ⲙⲥ khenϧⲉⲛ oumo-ou.ⲟ̀ⲩⲙⲱⲟ̀ⲩ.
but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.
وَأَنَا لَمْ أَكُنْ أَعْرِفُهُ. لَكِنْ لِيُظْهَرَ لِإِسْرَائِيلَ لِذَلِكَ جِئْتُ أُعَمِّدُ بِالْمَاءِ».
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ afermethreⲁϥⲉ̀ⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ Yo-anneesⲒⲱⲁ̀ⲛⲛⲏⲥ efgoⲉϥϫⲱ emmosⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ jeϫⲉ ainavⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ epi-epnevmaⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ efneeouⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ e-ekhreeⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏ iⲓ egofⲉ̀ϫⲱϥ emefreetiⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ enou-echrompiⲛ̀ⲟⲩϭ̀ⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ khenϧⲉⲛ etfeⲧ̀ⲫⲉ afohiⲁϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ higof.ϩⲓϫⲱϥ.
And John bore witness, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
وَشَهِدَ يُوحَنَّا: «إِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ الرُّوحَ نَازِلاً مِثْلَ حَمَامَةٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاسْتَقَرَّ عَلَيْهِ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ naiso-ounⲛⲁⲓⲥⲱⲟ̀ⲩⲛ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ anⲁⲛ peⲡⲉ allaⲁⲗⲗⲁ fee-etafta-owoiⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟ̀ⲩⲟ̀ⲓ eti-omsⲉ̀ϯⲱ̀ⲙⲥ khenϧⲉⲛ oumo-ouⲟ̀ⲩⲙⲱⲟ̀ⲩ enthofⲛ̀ⲑⲟϥ petafgosⲡⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲥ neeⲛⲏⲓ jeϫⲉ fee-eteknavⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲩ epi-epnevmaⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ efneeouⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ e-ekhreeⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ entefohiⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ higofϩⲓϫⲱϥ faiⲫⲁⲓ peⲡⲉ fee-ethnati-omsⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲑⲛⲁϯⲱ̀ⲙⲥ khenϧⲉⲛ ou-epnevmaⲟ̀ⲩⲠ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ efowab.ⲉϥⲟ̀ⲩⲁⲃ.
I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, `Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him,
وَأَنَا لَمْ أَكُنْ أَعْرِفُهُ لَكِنَّ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَنِي لِأُعَمِّدَ بِالْمَاءِ ذَاكَ قَالَ لِي: الَّذِي تَرَى الرُّوحَ نَازِلاً وَمُسْتَقِرّاً عَلَيْهِ فَهَذَا هُوَ الَّذِي يُعَمِّدُ بِالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ainavⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ ai-ermethreⲁⲓⲉ̀ⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ jeϫⲉ faiⲫⲁⲓ peⲡⲉ epsheeriⲡ̀Ϣⲏⲣⲓ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ Efnoti.Ⲫϯ.
this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.
وَأَنَا قَدْ رَأَيْتُ وَشَهِدْتُ أَنَّ هَذَا هُوَ ابْنُ اللَّهِ».
