Mary is correct. "Copt" is the Greek word for "Egyptian". So to say "Egyptian-Copt' is to say "Egyptian-Egyptian". This is more proof that Copts are the rightful natives of Egypt, since the Greek word for all Egyptians is "Copt". O Lord, O Lord, O …

Egshorti, "Blessed are those who believe without seeing." I could go on and on trying to convince you there is a God and the Christian religion is the correct religion. As for the Protestant religion, they are considered our brothers, but we do not…

Any time. :) I was reading it actually, and I think this is really relevant to baptism in specific: The Efficacious of Baptism (1) Salvation is completed through baptism. This is pursuant to the Lord Jesus Christ's words: "He who believes …

I don't think we will have to worry about losing the Coptic or Arabic language for another 4 or 5 decades. What I worry about is what would happen if Egypt instituted the Sharia (Islamic Law). Copts would be so heavily, and even more openly persecu…

Iriny, I doubt anyone could explain it as well as it was explained on CopticChurch.Net. If you scroll down, all the ranks of deacon-hood are there to be explored. O Our Lord, Jesus Christ: Who carries away the sin of the world: count us with You…

lol. i didn't mean to offend you by that G.J.I. I was just kidding around. Like I said, everyone has problems putting it on, even the 50 and 60 year olds who have been oghonostous-es all their lives. When You come again: in Your second fearful adve…

Doesn't this discussion belong under "Coptic Orthodox Church"? Guys, before you post your first question in a new thread, make sure you're putting it in the right category. Thanks. ;) Abundant are all your wonders: and precious is your glory: O y…

Yes, the one across the chest is much easier. But the cross-type batrashel...the trick is to put one end of the batrashel draped over your right shoulder, letting the edge of it nearly touch the ground, then complete it. That's how I do it, so it on…

I just have a comment on what Marianne (mkhalil) posted before....I think that was an amazing dedication to her Coptic School. It really was touching what she said, and because of her words, I myself am now praying to God I can have such an experien…

oh see...he wasn't ordained because of his knowledge, or ability to read...it was just the usually Egyptian hurriedness in getting things done all at once that allowed for that to happen. It shouldn't have though. lol. Politics: I meant that some a…

Guys, Why are we discussing this? I don't see a point. I'm almost a 100% sure all the guys in this forum have been circumcised, so it does not matter to them anymore - they can't glue back on the flesh that was cut off. And for those who are not…

lol. Not all people are ordained Deakons for their spirituality - there could be many political, hidden reasons too. lol. and for that ordaination to occur of the 7 year old....which Bishop did that? That is impossible to have them ordained. Oghono…

Very good point. Of course it's not a must, but would you agree that it is better than not getting circumcised? A great mystery: beyond all human minds: is the pursuit of our Savior: Who came and became the Son of Man. - Chris

I thought Pope John Paul II had decreed that he was no longer a saint? You are Catholic, I'm assuming from all the sources and your previous post, so you know more than me on that. "I have sinned, I have sinned: My Lord Jesus forgive me: for ther…
