It's a watos doxology verse.. composed of 7-9 syllables as you like calling it, while the hymn is an Adam hymn... I wasn't referring to anyone here as smart cantors. I was just making a critical statement for cantors, and I don't who those may be, w…

DEAr SWMSANMG, It's "bemah shomt" rather than "bema shomt".. Oujai

Dear Davidarida, No.. the "hedan" of the pope isn't said anymore. There's no point in saying "keep his life". The only fitting hymn is "awshas" Oujai

DEar imikhail, You forgot the sha'anini tune, didn't you? Dear SWMSANMG, Thanks for clarifying the sources not to say atranhos at the end.. I'll definitely take up this in my practice (if allowed to.. hehe) from now on.. however, additions and modi…

Well said morcousw.. the rites are there are no cymbals, so how is it fitting to sing the verses of cymbals? Dear Mina, I think the proper teaching is no madayeh at all, whether raising of incense, or end of liturgy.. OUJAI

Dear SWMSANMG, In some people's arrogant attitude, there is no time to learn appropriate hymns, because we know it all.. the examples, or rather the questions you gave, ought to be exceptions but if they were the norm, and no one takes a proper stan…

Great post Thutmose.. the dilemma is that studies say different things unfortunately due to each person's preferences for references.. I will provide a couple of old and well-trusted researches that appear to be rather "un"mutilated by Erian effendi…

Andrew and Fr. Peter, Andrew's initial question that Mina replied to wasn't only about language.. I guess Mina therefore didn't mean to address that point per se Oujai

I'm afraid those aren't strictly correct teachings.. sorry, but is it proper of me to say this about your long life education? Well, I just said it... Oujai
-
Well Joshua, some people argue, albeit not sure about Zoxsasi, that the world has 200 languages, 195 too many.. Oujai

DEAr Zoxsasi, I was never against integration by any means.. I think Indians in the UK struck the right balance.. but we as Egyptians? WE'll only keep debating this forever and a day OUjai
-
That is a good point. I think for the Coptic church, specifically speaking, Egyptians will keep going abroad all the time, and will need to feel at home in their church in the West. Only my personal opinion though... Oujai qen `P[C

OK. This is where I believe our church should have a dual role; not only missionary, but also serving the "original" community. Oujai qen `P[C
