  • here is the list from Wikipedia, although i don't know how relieable it is, Pope Shenoda I is 55 on the list and Pope Shenouda II is 65 and obviously HH Pope Shenouda III is 117

  • I got here the list from 5edmet el shamaas
of ''Gam3eyet Nahdet el Kana2es el Qebteya el Orthodoxia''
And I'm used to read it from deferent books every Holy Liturgy
    and I never found it..

    Nr. 55 is Pope [coptic]Cenou;iou =a[/coptic]
    Nr. 65 is Pope [coptic]Cenou;iou =b[/coptic]
    Wait..!! :P
LoooL..!! In arabic is wrote down that [coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic]
    is Shenouda..!!  ;D hahaha..

I'm sorry people...!! My arabic isn't that good..:$

    Sorryyy....(A)
  • [coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic] is not shenouda, [coptic]Senou][/coptic] is Shenouda, in fact i don't even think that is a real word in coptic so either there is two names that have the same meaning or else you Khedmit el shamas is wrong
  • I know [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic] is Shenouda..
I don't think this 5idmet el shamaas can be wrong..
I'll ask some more people about it and we'll wait for more
    explanation from others..:)
  • Check this out: http://tasbeha.org/hymn_library/view/1388

actually this is the right one when you compare to the list on wikipedia.
  • Yeah i'm sure, Wikipedia is not a relieable source at all, it was the first link i saw and i was not aware we had a list here on the site
  • So [coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic] has the same meaning as [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic]??

[coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic] cannot be wrong cause I read it in many books..
Actually in every book.. I haven't seen [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic] before..

Can any one look in a ''Big'' 5olagy and see if
    the numbers 55 and 65 are [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic]..

I think [coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic] is exactly the same as [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic]

I just realized how redundant I was.  Well, despite that, instead of erasing it, I figure I'll add one more to my post count.  700 posts baby!  :D

  • Well Peepz..

I remembered that my me3alim told me once
that all these name's are in Greek so I think
[coptic]Cenou;iou[/coptic] is exactly the same as [coptic]Senou]i[/coptic]
    bud in Greek....

    Right..??
  • Well, the Greek version, [coptic] Cenou;iou [/coptic] would roughly be 'Cenothio'. Obviously, this is not the name 'Shenoute' that we know...
