ive done Bible Study on Revelations and usually references to woman there refer to the Church and St Mary is sometimes referred to as like the Church as she had Jesus inside her.

John 19
25Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son" 27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
and these pages from Fr Tadros Y Malaty's book where he explains The Book of Revelations

Guys saint mary gave birth to our lord jesus christ in the complete normal way, she gave birth with all the pains that a woman face when giving birth. The only difference is that she gave birth while she is a virgin and stayed virgin after birth,
Hany
What would it theologically mean if she gave birth with pain?
Saint Mary was not a normal woman nor was her child (Christ), and so it does not make sense for her to give a normal birth.
Many quotes have been provided by our valuable members to prove that St. Mary gave birth painlessly.
I hope this helps
Hany
Guys, St mary carried the sin of adam and Eve as any normal human, and that's why she definitely gave birth with pain like any normal woman, the fact that our lord jesus christ is God doesn't change the fact that virgin mary gave birth without pain.
Please read the rest of this thread. Numerous quotes from the Fathers have been given that say she gave birth painlessly. To say she gave birth with pain is to go against the teachings of the Church. If the Blessed Virgin needed to give birth with pain in order for Christ to have been fully human, it would be even more natural to say that Christ needed to have an earthly father in order to have been fully human.
Yet we know that He did not have an earthly father, but was born from a Virgin - certainly not normal - yet He was nevertheless fully Man. And so your reasoning does not follow. That's exactly why she did not give birth with pain. She conceived in a miraculous manner, and she gave birth in a miraculous manner for the same reason. No one is saying she did not inherit a fallen nature from Adam and Eve like the rest of us. But, like I said, she did not conceive in a natural way, therefore she did not give birth in a natural way. This is not relevant. Its a completely different issue. She was definately a normal human being, but she did not conceive in a normal way, and therefore did not give birth with pain. This is not just my private opinion, but the faith of the Church.
i hope that has some sort of relevance..
he was just showing that throughout the course of His life..things that take effort or 'pain' from us are done effortlessly or pailes by our Lord Jesus Christ!!
If one wishes to be consistent in their argument, they would have to declare St. Mary to be non-human by virtue of the mere fact she managed to give birth as a Virgin. "Oh but she did that by the Holy Spirit!" - yeah, well she likewise gave birth without pain, "by the Holy Spirit", so again, what's the problem?
Giving birth without pain was not natural to the humanity of the Virgin, any more than being able to conceive a child without knowing a man. Both these things were accomplished by divine intervention.
