O all the heavenly hosts:
sing to our God with tunes of praise.
Rejoice with us today joyfully:
for the resurrection of the Lord, Christ.
Today the prophecies are completed:
and the sayings of the fathers fulfilled.
By the resurrection of the Lord from the dead:
He is the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
The Lord rose as one from sleep:
and as one drunk from wine.
He granted us everlasting joy:
and released us from bitter slavery.
( we usually sing till here i think but there is more lines, unless we sing the rest at another time?)
He broke the strong brass doors of Hades
And returned Adam to Paradise.
He changed punishment to salvation
And returned Adam to Paradise.
With happiness and gladness and joy
Adam and his sons who were in bond
Their bodies and souls are revived
The faithful once again are free.
The daughter of David rejoices today
And what they heard from the angels.
When the women proclaimed His resurrection
And what they heard from the angels.
The Lord our God is risen
To Him Glory and majesty be given
We thank Him for His Love and Grace
For His mercy endures forever.
it depends on the church you go to
but in our church they say it in both arabic and english depending on the particular day, if the congregation are mainly english speakers by nature or arabic.
as to a coptic version, there isn't one
but there is "kata nikhoros" which is sometimes also said which has a loosely similar meaning, but its actually intended for the end of the liturgy after psalm 150 during communion.
