here is the english lyrics if u need them

    A God like you

No eye has seen another God like You
Who opens the gates and unlocks the chains (2)
And created roads in the middle of the sea
Never prevented by mountains or barriers

R: I have never seen a God like you my God (2)

No one else but You appears in the den
And rescues the souls from the lions hem (2)
Who can lighten the darkness but you o my King
And fill my heart with joy that I may sing

You have suffered lots on the wooden cross
To give me back my life and restore my loss (2)
You have promised me You are coming back
To grant me the eternal life I lack

wow ive been looking for the english version for soooo long! but it doesn't sound the same meanings apart from the refrain...?
  • PrincessMaryPrincessMary
actually mnc its a pretty good translation...i think u r confused because there are actually 2 versions of the song in arabic 1 is

    1-lam tara 3ein ilahan ghayrak
    yaftak ilsegn we yanza3 ilkeyood
we yashok ilghamr fa iza tareek
    la ta3ookahoo gebal aw sedood

refrain: lam tara 3ein ilahan ghayrak

man sewak yatara'ah fe el atoon
aw yonagee ilnafs min gob el esood
man yoneer ilkafr in hal el zalam
be laheeb hob fe sooret 3amood

kam ta'alamt 'aala 3ood el saleeb
kay to3eed lee makanan fe ilkhelood
    we wa3adtnee sa ta'tee 3an kareeb
we tohebnee thekl magd bel se3ood

and there is another 1 that goes

    1-lam tara 3ein ilahan ghayrak
    yakshaf lana 3an ser ghenah
we yozeel kol zolmat el 3yoon
    heynema nasma3 we na3mal wasayah

refrain: lam tara 3ein ilahan ghayrak

    2-lam takon 3aynay yarabee tarak
    fa khatayay tahgob ro2yak
fa ana mawlood a3ma min zaman
faetleb el teen 3aynay be yadak

3-kam ghamartenee be hobak el 3ageeb
wa sabaytanee fa lak ana aseer
fa gharagt okhaber 3anka al akhareen
kont a3ma we al aan ana baseer

    4-kam ta'alamt 'aala 3ood el saleeb
kay to3eed lee makanan fe ilkhelood
    we wa3adtnee sa ta'tee 3an kareeb
we tohebnee thekl magd bel se3ood

and there is a little different english translation also

    A God like you

No eye has seen another God like You
Who opens the jails and shatters the chains (2)
Who parts the sea and behold there is a path
No mountains or barriers get in His way

R: I have never seen a God like you my God (2)

Who else but You could appear in the flame
Or rescue a soul from the lions den(2)
Who lights the way when darkness comes
With a blaze of love in a pillar of fire

Who else but You went to Calvary
Who else paid my debts carried my iniquity
And you promised me You are coming back
To take me to heaven for eternity

i have the other arabic audio version of it somewhere but i cant find it at the moment..i'll post it later

    Sydney,

Very nice work. Have you recorded any Pascha hymns on your oud? Like Thok-teti-Gom, Ke-Iperto, Omonogenis, or Golgotha?
  • SydneySydney
    Hello mate,

    Thanks for your kindness,

I am working on a double CD album which will contain lots of well known songs on one and common coptic tunes on the other. Recording time is very restricted this why it will take a while. Pray for me to finish this service. I will let you know when I am done.

    Thanks you.
