Lord

I came to you so full of sin

Please help me to begin again

My heart longs to be full of praise

For it is to you I pray

Help me to know right from wrong

When to pray or sing a song

From the Holy Bible’s own times

    I read your sacred lines

Grant that I may not just understand

But keep them always forever to hand

To always to tell of your own story

From birth, through pain, suffering, to glory

So at the end this world can see

Just what your death has meant for me
