What do you do at times where God feels far away? How do you regain that sense of closeness that you have to God?

    Even if we feel that God is far away, He is very close, but its us who keep going far away from Him sometimes. God loves you so much, if you feel He is far away try to seek Him, cause He says You will find Him when you search for Him with all your heart (Jer 29:13). Dont let anything separate you from the love of Christ, you will never find a friend who is like Jesus, no one cares for you as much as He does.

    We will feel God is close to us if we have a strong relationship with Him, if we pray to Him and seek Him. A lot of times we think God is there when everything is going well in our lives then when something bad happens we say where is God, God forgot about us....etc. God is always there, in the sad times of our lives and in the good times, He is always by our side. Pray to God and read the Bible, and you will feel how close Jesus really is to you.

    May God, who loves all His children so much and never forgets them nor forsakes them, bring your heart closer to His.

    hey.... we all get that feeling.... kinda hard to deal with...but here's my 2 cents

    when you feel far, just do what you can to try to come closer. pray more, control a dominant sin a lil better, and most importantly, when you talk to Him, tell Him you feel distant and stuff...

    the Bible promises us in James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

    as long as you make an effort, He wont feel that far.....

    God allows us to experience this feeling of distance so that He can build us up in our faith.The Bible teaches that we walk by faith not by our senses or feelings.His Word says,"I will never leave you nor forsake you".Trust God!He does not lie! These times of sadness teach us to trust God,to rely on His promises,to walk{live}by faith not by sight.We dont focus on our problem but rather we trust in the Living God,YHWH,to deliever us from every single thing that troubles us or causes harm.The Heavens and Earth may pass away but the Word of the LORD abides forever!He remains faithful no matter what the situation.Thus God allows every christian to experience times of desolation and spiritual lonliness in order to strengthen our faith in Him and to help us seek His presence more dilligently.As David said,"We dont feel his presence{He hides His face}so we are dismayed and troubled"{pharaprased}.Do not be troubled,be of good cheer!The LORD will never forsake His children!Use this time to grow closer to the Father,trusting Him,spending quality time in prayer,worship,and the study of the Holy Scriptures.Soon you will once again be blessed with the peace that passes all understanding,the wonderous,magnificent presence of the LORD God of Hosts.
