How to use a prayer rope ??
do you just say Kyrie Eleison 41 times, or do u say other prayers ???

Comments
The prayer rope is an amazing spiritual tool. It can be used in the follwing ways:
1) It can be used to count prostrations.
2) It can be used to count kyrie Eleisons such as the 400 said on the 12th hour of Good Friday.
3) It can be used for the Jesus Prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."
4) Any other short "arrow prayer.'
The prayer rope can be used for any prayer. It is used to keep the mind focused along with the body. A lot of the prayer robes will have a wooden bead after every 10, 25, or 50 woven beads. this is used to bring back the memory to prayer if you happen to dose of while going through all of the woven beads. Also, if you are doing prostrations and need to take a break, or something like that, you can use the wooden beads as a place marker.
God Bless you and please pray for me.

the prayer rope is made to help you count the Jesus prayer...
the way you say the Jesus prayer is as follows... you inhale and say "My Lord Jesus Christ" as if you are accepting Him into your life, into your thought... and you exhale "Have mercy on me a sinner" as if you are exhaling the sins, the corruption... and you do that for every knot... until you have reached a bead, where you prostrate and do a matanya, which is to show you that Jesus will help me and forgive me, when I repent, humiliate myself, and come back to Him. and in the end you reach the cross where you started, and on the end of the cross there should be a tassel like strings, which is for you to wipe your tears.
prayer ropes are just amazing, I wish everyone would be able to have one, I will soon through the grace of God, will have them available on our website, with different sizes...
but with all honesty I think everyone should learn how to make them, and make their own, I just learned it a couple of days ago, and it takes about a minute if not less to make a knot now... very easy after the third knot... also when you are making the knot, you learn even more, and there is a LOT of meditations in every knot you do...
another thing are how much you should do... I think if you are a starter you should always start 100 a day... throughout the day... and start working your way up... and believe me, when you start getting into that prayer, you will start going more and more, until you reach the thousands, and even then it will not be enough!
