  • Psalm 27 is a nice one to lift you up:

    The LORD is my light and my salvation;
            Whom shall I fear?
            The LORD is the strength of my life;
            Of whom shall I be afraid?
    2 When the wicked came against me
            To eat up my flesh,
            My enemies and foes,
            They stumbled and fell.
    3 Though an army may encamp against me,
            My heart shall not fear;
            Though war may rise against me,
            In this I will be confident.

    4 One thing I have desired of the LORD,
            That will I seek:
            That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
            All the days of my life,
            To behold the beauty of the LORD,
            And to inquire in His temple.
    5 For in the time of trouble
            He shall hide me in His pavilion;
            In the secret place of His tabernacle
            He shall hide me;
            He shall set me high upon a rock.

    6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
            Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
            I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.

    7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice!
            Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
    8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
            My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
    9 Do not hide Your face from me;
            Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
            You have been my help;
            Do not leave me nor forsake me,
            O God of my salvation.
    10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
            Then the LORD will take care of me.

    11 Teach me Your way, O LORD,
            And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
    12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
            For false witnesses have risen against me,
            And such as breathe out violence.
    13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
            That I would see the goodness of the LORD
            In the land of the living.

    14 Wait on the LORD;
            Be of good courage,
            And He shall strengthen your heart;
            Wait, I say, on the LORD!

    Read it and rejoice! Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Never forget that God is with you, and loves you, and will always support you as long as you stay by him. God is our defender and our fortress, our strength in the face of all problems. Be happy and glad, God doesn't want misery for you, he wants you to have life and have it bountifully!

    Lift your heart up to God and I can guarantee that he'll make you happy  :D

  • Also, a good way to overcome depression is to remind yourself that believe it or not, there are always people that are worse off than you. The best thing to do is to dedicate your free time to those people. It will help you more than you know. Even if its a simple phone call if you notice someone did not go to church one Sunday. You can even go to a homeless shelter and serve those people and help them get back on their feet. May God Bless you and help you on your journey :)
  • remember friend that the Lord Jesus Christ is stronger than our sadness, and our advocate always. prayers for you.

    Psalm 30

    I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up,
            And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
    O LORD my God, I cried out to You,
            And You healed me.
    O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave;
            You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.[a]

    Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His,
            And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.[b]
    For His anger is but for a moment,
            His favor is for life;
            Weeping may endure for a night,
            But joy comes in the morning.

    Now in my prosperity I said,
            “I shall never be moved.”
    LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong;
            You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

    I cried out to You, O LORD;
            And to the LORD I made supplication:
    “What profit is there in my blood,
            When I go down to the pit?
            Will the dust praise You?
            Will it declare Your truth?
    Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me;
            LORD, be my helper!”

    You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
            You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
    To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
            O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
