Tasbeha Rites

edited December 1969 in Hymns Discussion
Hey Gentlepeople,

Can someone tell me the rites of the Church concerning the tasbeha.

For example - this is as far as I know:

Saturday
---------

* Ne-ethnos Tiro
* 4th Houss (esmo epchoise)
* Arrow Prayer: Afti Emeponouf
* Eshop-ANshan
* Ti-Atsolep -> all the way to:
* OoPanchoice Isos Pekhristos.

-------
Vespers (Raising of Incense):

* Ten-O-Osht (Verses of Cymbals)
* Priest Prays
* Doxologies

--- > end of vespers

--> start of nasf-il layl.

------------------------------

SO, where are matins? what are matins?
Where do they come in? Are matins like vespers - with abouna there? or are they done without abouna?

Can someone write the rites for Monday to Sunday?

I hope its not too much to ask.

THanks

Comments

  • Matin is the Morning Hour--The First Canonical Hour of the Day.  It is similar to Vespers.

    When done in conjunction with an upcoming Rite of the Divine Liturgy, it is "the rolling out of the red carpet for the Entry of the Son of God."

    Starting at tasbehat nafs al layal, where you left off:

    1) tasbehat nafs al-layl
    2) Prime, first hour of agpeya
    3) Morning Doxology, followed by conclusion of adam Theotokias (Neknai o Panooty)
    4) Matins (very similar to vespers - it is the raising of incense before liturgy. first we say thanksgiving prayer, then verses of cymbals, several litanies, doxologies, prayer for the gospel, the gospel, litanies, Our Father, end of service hymn)
    5) Deacons wear tonias
    6) Read the 3rd and 6th hours of agpeya (if it's sunday)
    7) The offering of the lamb (beginning of liturgy)

    hope this helps. if i said something wrong, someone please correct me.
