Eritrean Orthodox
Hi,
Is the Eritrean Orthodox Church part of our sister Churches or are they different?
Also, if they are part of our Church, would anyone know where their Church is based in London?
Thanks

Other sister churches are Armenian Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox, and Indian Orthodox.
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your second question.
Yes, they are one of our sister churches.

I am asking because in the news yesterday this Eritrean Orthodox girl, who sings in the choir at Church was killed by her ex-boyfriend.
he stabbed her 30 times.
If anyone is in the UK, I think it would be a good idea to attend the funeral.

Hi QT,
You are very considerate, compassinate and caring. I would not have thought about it, because I do not posses those virtues.Keep it up and God Bless.
Sadly, the crime took place a year ago.The little girl was just 15 and very religious. The report's claim that the killer was her boyfriend is not accurate. I know about this story, because I happened to be in London for a visit at the time. The news was all over. I did not attend, but I remember, the prayers and church ceremonies for the deceased was held at St. Michael's Eritrean Orthodox Church in London. The girl was laid to rest in her homeland.
May the Good Lord repose her the bossom of His Saints.
Yes, The Eritrean Orthdox is the daugher church . I have this pic from the British Orthodox webiste.
On 19 June 2004 at St. Michael's Eritrean Orthodox Church, Edmund Street , Camberwell, London , SE5, Father Anthony CLEMENTS was elevated to the Order of Hegoumenos and Roger-Kenneth PLAYER was ordained as Subdeacon at the hands of Abba Seraphim, assisted by His Grace Bishop Angaelos.

Hez, you are too modest, and out of the goodness of your heart, you see good.
However, i must admit, this story really saddened me deeply. SHe had a really pure look about her.. i felt she was a Christian from her face. Im so sorry for what happened to her.
But, this makes me more determined in teaching younger generations the importance of not having a boyfriend/girlfriend. I've always hated this term. I think at 15 one does things out of peer pressure rather than freewill.
Its awful here in the UK how kids treat one another.. there's such an apathy towards human life and mutual respect towards one another.
Pray for them.
