3. On this day also, of the year 880 A.M. (May 19th, 1164 A.D.), St. Bashnouna was martyred. He was a monk in St. Macarius (Abu Maquar) monastery. During the fighting between the men of prince Dergham and the men of El-Wazir Shawer in the Fatimid rule, the monk was arrested. He was threatened with death if he did not convert to Islam, but he refused. They burned him alive, and he received the crown of martyrdom. The faithful took his bones and carried them to the church of Abu Serga in Old Cairo, in the place of wax, and they buried him there. May his prayers be with us, and glory be to God forever. Amen.

Marmara, eid el rosol is different then feast of the martyrs. In english Eid el rosol is Apostles Feast, and that doesn't have to be on Thursday. Feast of the martyrs is El Nayrooz and i'm almost 100% sure it doesn't have to be on a thursday.

no...she's right. feast of the apostles is always on a thrusday.

July 12 i believe is always the feast of the apostles. This year specifically it comes on thursday, however, next year it falls on a friday.

I;m not getting this sorry because I checked on saitmina-holmdel.org under synexarium. We are in the coptic year of 1723, I switched it to The coptic year of 1724 or 2008, and abib 5 is a saturday?

actually now am not really sure. i just know that everytime we do a laqan in that feast, it's on a thursday.

Marmar, since mina thought apostles feast is always a thursday, but it's not, there is no third one.
