Who wrote afrek etve, or where is it thought to come from ?? i know part of it quotes one of the psalms but i am not sure

  • the first part of the hymn is taken from psalm 18:9-10

    He bowed the heavens also, and came down
    With darkness under His feet.
    10 And He rode upon a cherub, and flew;
    He flew upon the wings of the wind.

    the second part is written by someone unknown: (to me atleast)
    Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad. Let all the tribes of the orthodox believers rejoice. For Christ the only-begotten God, ascended into the heavens.
