Old Photos

edited December 1969 in Random Issues
Do any of you have old photographs of Coptic and/or Oriental Orthodox Christians that you would like to share?  Below is my current background on my laptop; it is a picture of Syriac Orthodox Christians in Mosul

Hey, I'm in that photo! Third from the left on the second row!!!

    ;D

    You got me.
I actually thought you where serious.
I was actually looking for Fr. Peter... Lol!!!
God bless, Pray for me, so that I may get wisdom,
    Cyril
  • I am older than you, but not yet ancient, or Syrian!
  • I was searching all day!!

Thank you Cyril. I really had no idea Father Peter was joking. And I wouldn't figure it out either until someone brings it to my attention. I would probably continue searching the same picture until I was that man's age.

    That was a mean joke.

  • I think it is meaner that anyone could think I was old enough to be in that photo!
  • You said!!!

Btw you granted ILSM his wishes, how come not mine? I even bribed you with metanias!
  • Don't forget Father, you have the ability to banish a person from the site.

    Muahaha.
  • I will say, Father, you opened yourself up for that joke.  So, I am semi-sympathetic.
  • BTW, it is very easy to insert myself in that photo.
I could just put my head on anyone's body.
So it thought someone did that with you father.
I have never seen a picture like this before.
    It honestly looks photoshop'ed.
I don't know where is came from but it is funny.
One of the guys in the front looks like the guy who always
plays a king or a sorcerer in the Christian movies.
Anyways, I have sinned, absolve me,
    Cyril

Sorry for the crummy scan. It's from the cover of an old record I have of the liturgy of St. James. The man in the center is Dionysius Behnam Jajjawi, Metropolitan of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Lebanon, though obviously much earlier in his life (I think he turned 80 a few years ago), so I am guessing this album was recorded sometime in the 1960s...

(Where are you in this one, Father Peter?  ;D)
  • Father Peter was the one taking the picture, thats why you cant see him LOL
