Feast of Epiphany

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has the text for the gospel response for the Feast of Epiphany as chanted by Cantor Ibrahim Ayad and the Cathedral Chorus during the mass. Thank you very much and take care.

  • I have never seen Cantor Ibrahim praying with the Cathedral Chours on Epiphany. I think that normally Cantor Ibrahim goes to Alexandria with HH Pope Shenouda to pray the mass there.
  • i don't recommend saying any of those response in your churches. they are not the set responses for the feast but they are somthing just to cushion the time in the Cathedral liturgy.
  • Hey, what happened to Theophany or don't you have that in the COC ?

  • I do not know if anyone knows what I mean by my asking for the gospel response for the Feast of Epiphany. The cathedral chorus usually chants extra quartets after the quartet that is usually known and chanted throughout the churches. For example, for the Feast of Nativity, they chant the following extra verses http://tasbeha.org/hymn_library/view/1866 (3 extra parts after "epchois emepo-oo"). Another example is the Feast of the Resurrection http://tasbeha.org/hymn_library/view/2443, in which they chant the 3 extra parts after "lepon afkav."

I was wondering if anyone has a recording of the Feast of Epiphany from previous years and would email it to me. My email is [email protected]. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much.

January 6 is the feast of Epiphany. Epiphany is the traditional end of Christmas season in the Western Church, traditionally the day when people put away the Christmas ornaments.

that is because of the Western tradition of having Christmas on Dec 25.
