Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early,
وفي أوَّلِ الاُسبُوعِ جَاءَتْ مَرْيَمُ المَجْدَليَّةُ إلى القَبْرِ بَاكراً،

while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
والظلامُ باقٍ. فرأت الحَجَرَ مَرْفُوعاً عن بابِ القَبْرِ.

Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
فأسرعتْ وجَاءَتْ إلى سمْعَانَ بُطرُسَ وإلى التلْميذ الآخرِ الذي كانَ يَسوعُ يُحبُّهُ، وقالت لهُمَا: [قد أخَذوا سيِّدي منَ القَبْرِ ولستُ أعلمُ أينَ وضعوهُ].
AfiⲀϥⲓ̀ ounⲟⲩⲛ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ PetrosⲠⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ nemⲛⲉⲙ pikematheeteesⲡⲓⲕⲉⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ navneeouⲛⲁⲩⲛⲏⲟⲩ epi-emhav.ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ.
Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
فَخَرجَ بُطرُسُ والتلْميذُ الآخَرُ وأتَيَا إلى القَبْرِ.
NavchojiⲚⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ theⲇⲉ emepesnavⲙ̀ⲡ̀ⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩ (esnav)(ⲃ̅) hiϩⲓ ousopⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ pimatheeteesⲡⲓⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ afchojiⲁϥϭⲟϫⲓ aferⲁϥⲉⲣ hiϩⲓ etheeⲧ̀ϩⲏ empetrosⲙ̀Ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afershorpⲁϥⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ erofⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ epi-emhav.ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ.
So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
وكانَ كلاهما يُسرعان معاً. فركضَ التلميذُ الآخرُ وسبق بُطرس وتقدَّم أوَّلاً إلى القَبْرِ،
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ afsomsⲁϥⲥⲟⲙⲥ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ afnavⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ eni-ehvosⲉ̀ⲛⲓϩ̀ⲃⲱⲥ evkeeⲉⲩⲭⲏ e-ekhreeⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ mentoiⲙⲉⲛⲧⲟⲓ empefsheⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϣⲉ ekhoun.ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ.
And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
وتطلع داخلاً فرأى الثيابَ موضوعةً، ولم يدخل.
AfiⲀϥⲓ̀ theⲇⲉ hofϩⲱϥ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ SimonⲤⲓⲙⲱⲛ PetrosⲠⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ efmoshiⲉϥⲙⲟϣⲓ ensofⲛ̀ⲥⲱϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afholⲁϥϩⲱⲗ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ epi-emhavⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afnavⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ eni-ehvosⲉ̀ⲛⲓϩ̀ⲃⲱⲥ evkeeⲉⲩⲭⲏ e-ekhree.ⲉ̀ϧ̀ⲣⲏⲓ.
Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
ثمَّ جاءَ سمعَانُ بُطرسُ يَتبَعُهُ، ودَخَلَ القَبْرَ ونَظَرَ الأكفَانَ مَوضوعَةً،
NemⲚⲉⲙ pisoutharionⲡⲓⲥⲟⲩⲇⲁⲣⲓⲟⲛ enafkeeⲉ̀ⲛⲁϥⲭⲏ hijenϩⲓϫⲉⲛ tefafeⲧⲉϥⲁ̀ⲫⲉ nafkeeⲛⲁϥⲭⲏ anⲁⲛ nemⲛⲉⲙ ni-ehvos:ⲛⲓϩ̀ⲃⲱⲥ:
and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths,
والمنديلَ الذي كانَ عَلَى رأسهِ ليس مَوضوعاً مع الثياب،
allaⲁⲗⲗⲁ efkoulolfⲉϥⲕⲟⲩⲗⲱⲗϥ efkeeⲉϥⲭⲏ saousaⲥⲁⲟⲩⲥⲁ emmavatf.ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ.
but folded together in a place by itself.
بل مَلفُوفاً ومَوضوعاً في ناحية وحدهُ.
ToteⲦⲟⲧⲉ afiⲁϥⲓ̀ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ hofϩⲱϥ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ pikematheeteesⲡⲓⲕⲉⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ etafiⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥⲓ̀ enshorpⲛ̀ϣⲟⲣⲡ epi-emhav:ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ:
Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also;
فحينئذٍ دَخَلَ أيضاً التلميذ الآخرُ الذي جاءَ أوَّلاً إلى القَبْرِ،
o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afnavⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ afnahti.ⲁϥⲛⲁϩϯ.
and he saw and believed.
فرأى وآمنَ،
NeⲚⲉ empatousowenⲙ̀ⲡⲁⲧⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ti-eghrafeeϯⲅ̀ⲣⲁⲫⲏ gharⲅⲁⲣ pe:ⲡⲉ:
For as yet they did not know the Scripture,
لأنهم لمْ يكونوا بَعدُ يَعْرِفونَ الكتَابَ:
jeϫⲉ hotiϩⲱϯ erofⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ peⲡⲉ enteftonfⲛ̀ⲧⲉϥⲧⲱⲛϥ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ khenϧⲉⲛ nee-ethmoout.ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.
that He must rise again from the dead.
أنهُ يَنبَغي لهُ أنْ يَقومَ منَ بين الأموات.
AvsheⲀⲩϣⲉ noouⲛⲱⲟⲩ onⲟⲛ epoumaⲉ̀ⲡⲟⲩⲙⲁ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ nimatheetees.ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.
فمَضى التلميذَانِ أيضاً إلى مَوضعهِمَا.
MariaⲘⲁⲣⲓⲁ theⲇⲉ nasⲛⲁⲥ ohiⲟ̀ϩⲓ eratsⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧⲥ savolⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ peⲡⲉ khatenϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ pi-emhavⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ esrimi:ⲉⲥⲣⲓⲙⲓ:
But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping,
أمَّا مَرْيَمُ فكانتْ واقفَةً عنْدَ القَبْرِ خَارِجاً تَبْكي.
hosteϩⲟⲥⲧⲉ esrimiⲉⲥⲣⲓⲙⲓ asgoushtⲁⲥϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ epi-emhav.ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲙ̀ϩⲁⲩ.
and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.
وفيمَا هي تَبْكي تطلعتْ داخل القَبْرِ،
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ asnavⲁⲥⲛⲁⲩ eangelosⲉ̀ⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ esnavⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩ (esnav)(ⲃ̅) evhemsiⲉⲩϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ khenϧⲉⲛ hanchi-ehvosϩⲁⲛϭⲓϩ̀ⲃⲟⲥ enowovsh:ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲱⲃϣ:
And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet,
فأبصرتْ مَلاَكَينِ جالسينِ بثيابٍ بيضٍ واحداً عندَ رأسهِ والآخَرَ عندَ رجليهِ،
o-waiⲟⲩⲁⲓ khagofϧⲁϫⲱϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ o-waiⲟⲩⲁⲓ kharatf:ϧⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ:
where the body of Jesus had lain.
حَيث كَانَ جَسَدُ يَسوعَ مَوْضُوعاً.
empimaⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲙⲁ enareⲉ̀ⲛⲁⲣⲉ pisomaⲡⲓⲥⲱⲙⲁ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ IeesousⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ keeⲭⲏ emmof.ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ.
Then they said to her, “Woman,
فقالا لها:
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ pegoouⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ nasⲛⲁⲥ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ nee-eteⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉ emmav:ⲙ̀ⲙⲁⲩ:
why are you weeping?” She said to them,
[يا إمرأةُ،
jeϫⲉ ti-eshimiϯⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ akhoⲁ̀ϧⲟ terimi:ⲧⲉⲣⲓⲙⲓ:
“Because they have taken away my Lord,
ما بالك تَبْكينَ؟] فقالتْ لهُمَا:
pegasⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ noouⲛⲱⲟⲩ jeϫⲉ avoliⲁⲩⲱ̀ⲗⲓ empashoisⲙ̀Ⲡⲁϭⲟⲓⲥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ enti-emiⲛ̀ϯⲉ̀ⲙⲓ anⲁⲛ jeϫⲉ avkafⲁⲩⲭⲁϥ thon.ⲑⲱⲛ.
and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
[إنهُمْ أخَذوا سَيِّدي ولسْتُ أعْلَمُ أيْنَ وضَعُوهُ].
NaiⲚⲁⲓ etasgotouⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲥϫⲟⲧⲟⲩ asfonhsⲁⲥⲫⲟⲛϩⲥ efahouⲉ̀ⲫⲁϩⲟⲩ asnavⲁⲥⲛⲁⲩ eieesousⲉ̀Ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ efohiⲉϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ eratfⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ nasemiⲛⲁⲥⲉ̀ⲙⲓ anⲁⲛ jeϫⲉ IeesousⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ pe.ⲡⲉ.
Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
ولمَّا قالت هذا التفتتْ إلى الوراءِ، نَظَرَتْ يَسوعَ واقفاً،
PejeⲠⲉϫⲉ IeesousⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ nasⲛⲁⲥ jeϫⲉ ti-eshimiϯⲥ̀ϩⲓⲙⲓ ethveouⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ terimi:ⲧⲉⲣⲓⲙⲓ:
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?
ولمْ تَكنْ تَعْلَمْ أنهُ يَسوعُ.
arekotiⲁ̀ⲣⲉⲕⲱϯ ensaⲛ̀ⲥⲁ nim.ⲛⲓⲙ.
Whom are you seeking?” She,
فقالَ لها يَسوعُ: [يا إمرَأة، لمَاذا تَبْكينَ؟
EnthosⲚ̀ⲑⲟⲥ theⲇⲉ esmeviⲉⲥⲙⲉⲩⲓ jeϫⲉ pichmeenchomⲡⲓϭⲙⲏⲛϭⲱⲙ pe:ⲡⲉ:
supposing Him to be the gardener,
مَنْ تَطْلبِينَ؟] فَظَنتْ أنهُ البُستاني،
pegasⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ nafⲛⲁϥ jeϫⲉ Pashois:Ⲡⲁϭⲟⲓⲥ:
said to Him, “Sir,
فقالتَ لهُ:
isjeⲓⲥϫⲉ enthokⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲕ akfaiⲁⲕϥⲁⲓ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ matamoiⲙⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲓ jeϫⲉ akkafⲁⲕⲭⲁϥ thon:ⲑⲱⲛ:
if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him,
[يا سيِّدي، إنْ كنتَ أنْتَ قَدْ حَمَلْتَهُ فاعلمني أينَ وضَعْتَهُ،
o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ anokⲁ̀ⲛⲟⲕ ethnaolf.ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲟⲗϥ.
and I will take Him away.”
وأنا آخُذُهُ].
PejeⲠⲉϫⲉ IeesousⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ nasⲛⲁⲥ jeϫⲉ Mariam:Ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁⲙ:
Jesus said to her,
قال لها يَسوعُ:
enthosⲛ̀ⲑⲟⲥ theⲇⲉ asfonhsⲁⲥⲫⲟⲛϩⲥ pegasⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ nafⲛⲁϥ emmethebreosⲙ̀ⲙⲉⲧϩⲉⲃⲣⲉⲟⲥ jeϫⲉ RabbouniⲢⲁⲃⲃⲟⲩⲛⲓ eteⲉ̀ⲧⲉ faiⲫⲁⲓ peⲡⲉ jeϫⲉ Efrefti-esvo.Ⲫ̀ⲣⲉϥϯⲥ̀ⲃⲱ.
“Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
[يا مَرْيَمُ!] فَإلتَفَتَتْ هي وقالتْ لهُ بالعبرانية:
PejeⲠⲉϫⲉ IeesousⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ nasⲛⲁⲥ jeϫⲉ emperchiⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲣϭⲓ nemee:ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ:
Jesus said to her,
[رَبُّوني] الذي تَفْسيرُهُ يا مُعَلمُ.
empatisheⲙ̀ⲡⲁϯϣⲉ neeⲛⲏⲓ gharⲅⲁⲣ e-epshoiⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ haϩⲁ Paiot:Ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ:
“Do not cling to Me,
قال لهَا يَسوعُ:
masheⲙⲁϣⲉ neⲛⲉ theⲇⲉ haϩⲁ na-esneeouⲛⲁⲥ̀ⲛⲏⲟⲩ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ agosⲁ̀ϫⲟⲥ noou:ⲛⲱⲟⲩ:
for I have not yet ascended to My Father;
[لا تَلمسيني لأني لمْ أصْعَدْ بَعدُ إلى أبي.
jeϫⲉ tinasheϯⲛⲁϣⲉ neeⲛⲏⲓ e-epshoiⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϣⲱⲓ haϩⲁ PaiotⲠⲁⲓⲱⲧ eteⲉ̀ⲧⲉ PeteniotⲠⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ pe:ⲡⲉ:
but go to My brethren and say to them,
إمضِ إلى إخوتي وقُولي لهُمْ: إني صاعدٌ إلى أبي الذي هو أبوكم،
nemⲛⲉⲙ PanotiⲠⲁⲛⲟⲩϯ eteⲉ̀ⲧⲉ PetennotiⲠⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ pe.ⲡⲉ.
‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father,
وإلهي الذي هو إلهكم].
AsiⲀⲥⲓ̀ theⲇⲉ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ MariaⲘⲁⲣⲓⲁ TimaghdalineeϮⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲓⲛⲏ astameⲁⲥⲧⲁⲙⲉ nimatheetees:ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ:
and to My God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord,
فجاءتْ مَرْيَمُ المَجْدَليَّةُ وأخْبَرَت التلاميذَ أنها رأت الربَّ،
jeϫⲉ ainavⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ e-epshoisⲉ̀Ⲡ̀ϭⲟⲓⲥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ naiⲛⲁⲓ etafgotouⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲧⲟⲩ nee.ⲛⲏⲓ.
and that He had spoken these things to her.
وأنهُ قال لها هذا.
