Jonah the prophet,
يونان النبي،
nafkeeⲛⲁϥⲭⲏ khenϧⲉⲛ ethnejiⲑ̀ⲛⲉϫⲓ empikeetos:ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲕⲏⲧⲟⲥ:
was in the belly of the whale,
كان في بطن الحوت،
enshomtⲛ̀ϣⲟⲙⲧ (shomt)(ⲅ̅) enehoouⲛ̀ⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ nemⲛⲉⲙ shomtϣⲟⲙⲧ enegorh:ⲛ̀ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲣϩ:
for three days and three nights,
ثلاثة أيام وثلاث ليال،
kataⲕⲁⲧⲁ pikosⲡⲓⲕⲱⲥ empensoteer.ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲛⲤⲱⲧⲏⲣ.
like the burial of our Savior.
كدفن مخلصنا.

إلي رجال نينوى،

he preached to them His word,
فكرز لهم،
o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ avermetanoin.ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ.
and they repented.
كقوله فتابوا.
EnshomtⲚ̀ϣⲟⲙⲧ enehoouⲛ̀ⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ nemⲛⲉⲙ shomtϣⲟⲙⲧ enegorh:ⲛ̀ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲣϩ:
For three days and three nights,
ثلاثة أيام وثلاث ليال،
khenϧⲉⲛ haneshleelϩⲁⲛϣ̀ⲗⲏⲗ nemⲛⲉⲙ hanneestia:ϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥⲧⲓⲁ:
they were in prayer and fasting,
بصلوات وأصوام،
nemⲛⲉⲙ ninahkiⲛⲓⲛⲁϩⲕⲓ nemⲛⲉⲙ niermooui:ⲛⲓⲉⲣⲙⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀:
with pain and tears,
مع التمخض والدموع،
nihalatiⲛⲓϩⲁⲗⲁϯ nemⲛⲉⲙ nitevnooui.ⲛⲓⲧⲉⲃⲛⲱⲟⲩⲓ̀.
with the birds and animals.
وهكذا الطيور والبهائم.
++ AfshopⲀϥϣⲱⲡ erofⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ entoumetanoia:ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲁ:
+ God accepted their repentance,
فقبل الله،
enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ EfnotiⲪ̀ϯ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afnaiⲁϥⲛⲁⲓ noou:ⲛⲱⲟⲩ:
and had mercy upon them,
توبتهم ورحمهم،
afoliⲁϥⲱ̀ⲗⲓ empefgontⲙ̀ⲡⲉϥϫⲱⲛⲧ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ haroou:ϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ:
He lifted His anger away from them,
ورفع غضبه عنهم،
afkaⲁϥⲭⲁ nounoviⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲃⲓ no-ouⲛⲱⲟ̀ⲩ evol.ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ.
and forgave them their sins.
وغفر لهم خطاياهم.
TentovhⲦⲉⲛⲧⲱⲃϩ emmokⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲕ oⲱ̀ pinaeet:ⲡⲓⲚⲁⲏⲧ:
We pray to You O merciful One,
نطلب إليك أيها الرحوم،
ariouiⲁ̀ⲣⲓⲟⲩⲓ̀ nemanⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ khaϧⲁ nirefernovi:ⲛⲓⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ:
deal with us the sinners,
أن تصنع معنا نحن الخطاة،
emefreetiⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ enniremninevee:ⲛ̀ⲛⲓⲣⲉⲙⲚⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ̀:
like the people of Nineveh,
مثل أهل نينوى،
naiⲛⲁⲓ nanⲛⲁⲛ kataⲕⲁⲧⲁ peknishtiⲡⲉⲕⲛⲓϣϯ ennai.ⲛ̀ⲛⲁⲓ.
have mercy upon us according to Your great mercy.
وارحمنا كعظيم رحمتك.

of great compassion,
كثير الرحمة،

and full of patience,
متحنن وطويل الأناة،
pimairomiⲡⲓⲘⲁⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ enaghathos.ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ.
the good Lover of mankind.
محب البشر الصالح.
JeϪⲉ ekowoshⲭ̀ⲟⲩⲱϣ emefmouⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲙⲟⲩ anⲁⲛ empirefernovi:ⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ:
For You do not desire the death of a sinner,
لأنك لا تشاء موت الخاطئ،

accept us and have mercy on us,
إقبلنا إليك وإرحمنا،
koⲭⲱ nanⲛⲁⲛ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ennennovi.ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲛⲛⲟⲃⲓ.
and forgive us our sins.
واغفر لنا خطايانا.
