The blessing of the LORD be upon you.
بَرَكَة الربِّ عليكُمْ.
EfetheleelⲈϥⲉ̀ⲑⲉⲗⲏⲗ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ emashoⲉ̀ⲙⲁϣⲱ e-ehreeⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ejenⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ peknohem.ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ.

بِارَكْنَاكُمْ بِإسْمِ الربِّ.
EtepithimiaⲦ̀ⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ tefpsisheeⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ akteeisⲁⲕⲧⲏⲓⲥ naf.ⲛⲁϥ.
Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth.
مِراراً كثيرةً حارَبُونِي مُنذُ صِبايَ.

Yet they have not prevailed against me.

Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
وَكَانَ إِنْسَانٌ مَرِيضًا وَهُوَ لِعَازَرُ، مِنْ بَيْتِ عَنْيَا مِنْ قَرْيَةِ مَرْيَمَ وَمَرْثَا أُخْتِهَا.

It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
وَكَانَتْ مَرْيَمُ، الَّتِي كَانَ لِعَازَرُ أَخُوهَا مَرِيضًا، هِيَ الَّتِي دَهَنَتِ الرَّبَّ بِطِيبٍ،

Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold,
وَمَسَحَتْ رِجْلَيْهِ بِشَعْرِهَا.
jeϫⲉ EpshoisⲠ̀ϭⲟⲓⲥ isⲓⲥ fee-etekmeiⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲉⲓ emmofⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ efshoni.ϥ̀ϣⲱⲛⲓ.
he whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard that,
فَأَرْسَلَتِ الأُخْتَانِ إِلَيْهِ قَائِلَتَيْنِ: «يَاسَيِّدُ، هُوَذَا الَّذِي تُحِبُّهُ مَرِيضٌ».

He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ يَسُوعُ، قَالَ: «هذَا الْمَرَضُ لَيْسَ لِلْمَوْتِ، بَلْ لأَجْلِ مَجْدِ اللهِ، لِيَتَمَجَّدَ ابْنُ اللهِ بِهِ».

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
وَكَانَ يَسُوعُ يُحِبُّ مَرْثَا وَأُخْتَهَا وَلِعَازَرَ.

So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.
فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ أَنَّهُ مَرِيضٌ مَكَثَ حِينَئِذٍ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي كَانَ فِيهِ يَوْمَيْنِ.

ثُمَّ بَعْدَ ذلِكَ قَالَ لِتَلاَمِيذِهِ: «لِنَذْهَبْ إِلَى الْيَهُودِيَّةِ أَيْضًا».

“Let us go to Judea again.” The disciples said to Him, “Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?”
قَالَ لَهُ التَّلاَمِيذُ: «يَا مُعَلِّمُ، الآنَ كَانَ الْيَهُودُ يَطْلُبُونَ أَنْ يَرْجُمُوكَ، وَتَذْهَبُ أَيْضًا إِلَى هُنَاكَ».

Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day?
أَجَابَ يَسُوعُ: «أَلَيْسَتْ سَاعَاتُ النَّهَارِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ؟

If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ يَمْشِي فِي النَّهَارِ لاَ يَعْثُرُ لأَنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ نُورَ هذَا الْعَالَمِ،

But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” These things He said,
وَلكِنْ إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ يَمْشِي فِي اللَّيْلِ يَعْثُرُ، لأَنَّ النُّورَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ».

“Our friend Lazarus sleeps,
«لِعَازَرُ حَبِيبُنَا قَدْ نَامَ.
allaⲁⲗⲗⲁ ei-esheⲉⲓⲉ̀ϣⲉ neeⲛⲏⲓ entatounosf.ⲛ̀ⲧⲁⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ.
but I go that I may wake him up.”
لكِنِّي أَذْهَبُ لأُوقِظَهُ».

Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.
وَكَانَ يَسُوعُ يَقُولُ عَنْ مَوْتِهِ، وَهُمْ ظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ يَقُولُ عَنْ رُقَادِ النَّوْمِ.

فَقَالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ حِينَئِذٍ عَلاَنِيَةً: «لِعَازَرُ مَاتَ.

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe.
وَأَنَا أَفْرَحُ لأَجْلِكُمْ إِنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ هُنَاكَ، لِتُؤْمِنُوا. وَلكِنْ لِنَذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ!».

Nevertheless let us go to him.” Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.”
فَقَالَ تُومَا الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ التَّوْأَمُ لِلتَّلاَمِيذِ رُفَقَائِهِ: «لِنَذْهَبْ نَحْنُ أَيْضًا لِكَيْ نَمُوتَ مَعَهُ!».

فَلَمَّا أَتَى يَسُوعُ وَجَدَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ صَارَ لَهُ أَرْبَعَةُ أَيَّامٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ.

Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away.
وَكَانَتْ بَيْتُ عَنْيَا قَرِيبَةً مِنْ أورُشَليم نَحْوَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ غَلْوَةً.

And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
وَكَانَ كَثِيرُونَ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ قَدْ جَاءُوا إِلَى مَرْثَا وَمَرْيَمَ لِيُعَزُّوهُمَا عَنْ أَخِيهِمَا.

Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him,
فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ مَرْثَا أَنَّ يَسُوعَ آتٍ لاَقَتْهُ،
MariaⲘⲁⲣⲓⲁ theⲇⲉ nashemsiⲛⲁⲥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ peⲡⲉ khenϧⲉⲛ piee.ⲡⲓⲏⲓ.
but Mary was sitting in the house.
وَأَمَّا مَرْيَمُ فَاسْتَمَرَّتْ جَالِسَةً فِي الْبَيْتِ.

وَلَمَّا قَالَ هذَا صَرَخَ بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ:

He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus,
«لِعَازَرُ، هَلُمَّ خَارِجًا!» فَخَرَجَ الْمَيْتُ وَيَدَاهُ وَرِجْلاَهُ مَرْبُوطَاتٌ بِأَقْمِطَةٍ،

وَوَجْهُهُ مَلْفُوفٌ بِمِنْدِيل.
