"Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen,
«وَأَمَّا خَيْمَةُ الشَّهَادَةِ فَكَانَتْ مَعَ آبَائِنَا فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ كَمَا أَمَرَ الَّذِي كَلَّمَ مُوسَى أَنْ يَعْمَلَهَا عَلَى الْمِثَالِ الَّذِي كَانَ قَدْ
ThaiⲐⲁⲓ etavolsⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲟⲗⲥ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ nemoouⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ eavshopsⲉ̀ⲁⲩϣⲟⲡⲥ eroouⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ enjeⲛ̀ϫⲉ neniotiⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ nemⲛⲉⲙ IeesouⲒⲏⲥⲟⲩ khenϧⲉⲛ pi-amahiⲡⲓⲁ̀ⲙⲁϩⲓ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ niethnosⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ nee-etaⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁ EfnotiⲪ̀ϯ hitouϩⲓⲧⲟⲩ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ kha-etheeϧⲁⲧ̀ϩⲏ emephoⲙ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲟ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ neniotiⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ shaϣⲁ ni-ehoouⲛⲓⲉ̀ϩⲟⲟⲩ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ David.Ⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ.
which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David,
رَآهُ الَّتِي أَدْخَلَهَا أَيْضاً آبَاؤُنَا إِذْ تَخَلَّفُوا عَلَيْهَا مَعَ يَشُوعَ فِي مُلْكِ الْأُمَمِ الَّذِينَ طَرَدَهُمُ اللهُ مِنْ وَجْهِ آبَائِنَا إِلَى أَيَّامِ دَاوُدَ الَّذِي
Fee-etafjimiⲪⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥϫⲓⲙⲓ enou-ehmotⲛ̀ⲟⲩϩ̀ⲙⲟⲧ empe-emthoⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲙ̀ⲑⲟ emefnotiⲙ̀Ⲫ̀ϯ eferetinⲉϥⲉ̀ⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ethamioⲉ̀ⲑⲁⲙⲓⲟ enoumaⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲙⲁ enshopiⲛ̀ϣⲱⲡⲓ emefnotiⲙ̀Ⲫ̀ϯ enyakob.ⲛ̀Ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ.
who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob.
وَجَدَ نِعْمَةً أَمَامَ اللهِ وَالْتَمَسَ أَنْ يَجِدَ مَسْكَناً لِإِلَهِ يَعْقُوبَ.
SolomonⲤⲟⲗⲟⲙⲱⲛ theⲇⲉ afketⲁϥⲕⲉⲧ o-eeⲟⲩⲏⲓ naf.ⲛⲁϥ.
But Solomon built Him a house.
وَلَكِنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بَنَى لَهُ بَيْتاً.
AllaⲀⲗⲗⲁ nareⲛⲁⲣⲉ PetchosiⲠⲉⲧϭⲟⲥⲓ shopϣⲟⲡ anⲁⲛ khenϧⲉⲛ hanmounkϩⲁⲛⲙⲟⲩⲛⲕ enjigⲛ̀ϫⲓϫ kata-efreetiⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ eteⲉ̀ⲧⲉ pi-eprofeeteesⲡⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ goϫⲱ emmos.ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ.
"However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:
لَكِنَّ الْعَلِيَّ لاَ يَسْكُنُ فِي هَيَاكِلَ مَصْنُوعَةٍ بِالأَيَادِي كَمَا يَقُولُ النَّبِيُّ:
JeϪⲉ etfeⲧ̀ⲫⲉ peⲡⲉ pa-ethronosⲡⲁⲑ̀ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ epkahiⲡ̀ⲕⲁϩⲓ theⲇⲉ peⲡⲉ efma-ensemniⲫ̀ⲙⲁⲛ̀ⲥⲉⲙⲛⲓ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ nachalavg:ⲛⲁϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ:
"Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool.
السَّمَاءُ كُرْسِيٌّ لِي وَالأَرْضُ مَوْطِئٌ لِقَدَمَيَّ.
ashⲁϣ eneeⲛ̀ⲏⲓ peⲡⲉ fee-etetennakotfⲫⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲕⲟⲧϥ neeⲛⲏⲓ pejeⲡⲉϫⲉ Epshois:Ⲡ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅:
What house will you build for Me?
أَيَّ بَيْتٍ تَبْنُونَ لِي يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ
ieⲓⲉ ashⲁϣ peⲡⲉ efmaⲫ̀ⲙⲁ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ pamanemton.ⲡⲁⲙⲁⲛⲉⲙⲧⲟⲛ.
says the LORD, or what is the place of My rest?
وَأَيٌّ هُوَ مَكَانُ رَاحَتِي؟
MeeⲘⲏ tajigⲧⲁϫⲓϫ anⲁⲛ astamieⲁⲥⲑⲁⲙⲓⲉ naiⲛⲁⲓ teerou.ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
Has My hand not made all these things?' "You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears!
أَلَيْسَتْ يَدِي صَنَعَتْ هَذِهِ الأَشْيَاءَ كُلَّهَا؟
NinashtiⲚⲓⲛⲁϣϯ nahviⲛⲁϩⲃⲓ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ enatseviⲛ̀ⲁⲧⲥⲉⲃⲓ khenϧⲉⲛ pouheetⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ nemⲛⲉⲙ noukemashgⲛⲟⲩⲕⲉⲙⲁϣϫ enthotenⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ enseeouⲛ̀ⲥⲏⲟⲩ nivenⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ tetentiⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϯ ekhounⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ e-ehrenⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲉⲛ pi-epnevmaⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ethowabⲉ̅ⲑ̅ⲩ̅ emefreetiⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ennetenkeiotiⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲉⲓⲟϯ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ enthotenⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ hoten.ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute?
«يَا قُسَاةَ الرِّقَابِ وَغَيْرَ الْمَخْتُونِينَ بِالْقُلُوبِ وَالآذَانِ أَنْتُمْ دَائِماً تُقَاوِمُونَ الرُّوحَ الْقُدُسَ. كَمَا كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ كَذَلِكَ أَنْتُمْ.
NimⲚⲓⲙ evolkhenⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ni-eprofeeteesⲛⲓⲡ̀ⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ eteⲉ̀ⲧⲉ empeⲙ̀ⲡⲉ neteniotiⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ chojiϭⲟϫⲓ ensofⲛ̀ⲥⲱϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ avkhotebⲁⲩϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ennee-etavershorpⲛ̀ⲛⲏⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ enhioishⲛ̀ϩⲓⲱⲓϣ emepjiniⲙ̀ⲡ̀ϫⲓⲛⲓ̀ enteⲛ̀ⲧⲉ piⲡⲓ Thmee:̀Ⲑⲙⲏⲓ:
And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One,
أَيُّ الأَنْبِيَاءِ لَمْ يَضْطَهِدْهُ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَقَدْ قَتَلُوا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُوا فَأَنْبَأُوا بِمَجِيءِ الْبَارِّ الَّذِي أَنْتُمُ الآنَ صِرْتُمْ مُسَلِّمِيهِ
faiⲫⲁⲓ enthotenⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ etaretenteeifⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲏⲓϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ aretenkhothvef.ⲁ̀ⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϧⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ.
of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,
وَقَاتِلِيهِ الَّذِينَ أَخَذْتُمُ النَّامُوسَ بِتَرْتِيبِ مَلاَئِكَةٍ
EnthotenⲚ̀ⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ aretenchiⲁ̀ⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ empinomosⲙ̀ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ehanthoshⲉ̀ϩⲁⲛⲑⲱϣ enangelosⲛ̀ⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ empetenarehⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁ̀ⲣⲉϩ erof.ⲉ̀ⲣⲟϥ.
who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it."
وَلَمْ تَحْفَظُوهُ؟».
NaiⲚⲁⲓ theⲇⲉ etavsothmouⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲩⲥⲟⲑⲙⲟⲩ navshopshepⲛⲁⲩϣⲟⲡϣⲉⲡ empouheetⲙ̀ⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ navekhragregⲛⲁⲩϧ̀ⲣⲁϫⲣⲉϫ ennounaghiⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲁϫϩⲓ e-ehreeⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ egof.ⲉ̀ϫⲱϥ.
When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا هَذَا حَنِقُوا بِقُلُوبِهِمْ وَصَرُّوا بِأَسْنَانِهِمْ عَلَيْهِ.
EstefanosⲤ̀ⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲥ theⲇⲉ efmehⲉϥⲙⲉϩ evolkhenⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ efnahtiⲫ̀ⲛⲁϩϯ nemⲛⲉⲙ pi-epnevmaⲡⲓⲠ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ethowabⲉ̅ⲑ̅ⲩ̅ afsomsⲁϥⲥⲟⲙⲥ e-ehreeⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ e-etfeⲉ̀ⲧ̀ⲫⲉ afnavⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ e-epoouⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲱ̀ⲟⲩ emefnotiⲙ̀Ⲫ̀ϯ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ IeesousⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ efohiⲉϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ eratfⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ saouinamⲥⲁⲟⲩⲓ̀ⲛⲁⲙ emefnoti.ⲙ̀Ⲫ̀ϯ.
But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, "Look!
وَأَمَّا هُوَ فَشَخَصَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ مُمْتَلِئٌ مِنَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ فَرَأَى مَجْدَ اللهِ وَيَسُوعَ قَائِماً عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ pegafⲡⲉϫⲁϥ jeϫⲉ heeppeϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ tinavϯⲛⲁⲩ enifeeouiⲉ̀ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ̀ evoweenⲉⲩⲟⲩⲏⲛ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ epsheeriⲡ̀Ϣⲏⲣⲓ emefromiⲙ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ efohiⲉϥⲟ̀ϩⲓ eratfⲉ̀ⲣⲁⲧϥ saouinamⲥⲁⲟⲩⲓ̀ⲛⲁⲙ emefnoti.ⲙ̀Ⲫ̀ϯ.
I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
فَقَالَ: «هَا أَنَا أَنْظُرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ مَفْتُوحَةً وَابْنَ الإِنْسَانِ قَائِماً عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ».

Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord;
فَصَاحُوا بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ وَسَدُّوا آذَانَهُمْ وَهَجَمُوا عَلَيْهِ بِنَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَأَخْرَجُوهُ خَارِجَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَرَجَمُوهُ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ avhitfⲁⲩϩⲓⲧϥ savolⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ entipolisⲛ̀ϯⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ avhi-oniⲁⲩϩⲓⲱ̀ⲛⲓ egofⲉ̀ϫⲱϥ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ nimethrevⲛⲓⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉⲩ avkoⲁⲩⲭⲱ ennou-ehvosⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩϩ̀ⲃⲱⲥ kharatfϧⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ enoukhelshiriⲛ̀ⲟⲩϧⲉⲗϣⲓⲣⲓ epefranⲉ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ peⲡⲉ Savlos.Ⲥⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ.
and they cast him out of the city and stoned him.
وَالشُّهُودُ خَلَعُوا ثِيَابَهُمْ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْ شَابٍّ يُقَالُ لَهُ شَاوُلُ.
O-wohⲞⲩⲟϩ avhi-oniⲁⲩϩⲓⲱ̀ⲛⲓ ejenⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ EstefanosⲤ̀ⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲥ eftihoⲉϥϯϩⲟ efgoⲉϥϫⲱ emmos:ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ:
And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.
فَكَانُوا يَرْجُمُونَ اسْتِفَانُوسَ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو وَيَقُولُ:
jeϫⲉ EpshoisⲠ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅ IeesousⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ shepϣⲉⲡ pa-epnevmaⲡⲁⲡ̀ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ erok.ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲕ.
And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus,
«أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ يَسُوعُ اقْبَلْ رُوحِي».
AfhitfⲀϥϩⲓⲧϥ theⲇⲉ ejenⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ nefkeliⲛⲉϥⲕⲉⲗⲓ o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ afoshⲁϥⲱϣ evolⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ khenϧⲉⲛ ounishtiⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ enesmeeⲛ̀ⲥ̀ⲙⲏ efgoⲉϥϫⲱ emmosⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ jeϫⲉ EpshoisⲠ̀ⲟ̅ⲥ̅ ennekepⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲕⲉⲡ painoviⲡⲁⲓⲛⲟⲃⲓ eroou:ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ:
receive my spirit." Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this,
ثُمَّ جَثَا عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَصَرَخَ بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ: «يَا رَبُّ لاَ تُقِمْ لَهُمْ هَذِهِ الْخَطِيَّةَ».
o-wohⲟⲩⲟϩ faiⲫⲁⲓ etafgofⲉ̀ⲧⲁϥϫⲟϥ afenkot.ⲁϥⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ.
he fell asleep.
وَإِذْ قَالَ هَذَا رَقَدَ.
SavlosⲤⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ theⲇⲉ naftimatiⲛⲁϥϯⲙⲁϯ peⲡⲉ e-ehreeⲉ̀ϩ̀ⲣⲏⲓ ejenⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ pefkhoteb.ⲡⲉϥϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ.
Now Saul was consenting to his death.
وَكَانَ شَاوُلُ رَاضِياً بِقَتْلِهِ.
