@Jojo_Hanna We venerate her during the doxologies at the Monastery, although I am not completely sure if she is a canonized Saint in our church. Any information I've been able to find is either vague or conflicting.
She does have a history of vene…
I believe we do that in Arabic at the Monastery. I'll ask the other Deacon who speaks and reads Arabic. They don't have any translations in English or Coptic, so I'll check with him.

I wish people would be so I inquisitive about those electric candles! I try, my friend. I just needed some non Facebook Coptic Theological arguments.
I believe it was a Mosque from the 15th century to the 1930s. If you see pictures, there are Islamic writings on the walls. It's not exactly such alarming news as everyone makes it out to be. It has actually been secular for almost 90 years and was …
I've seen it depend on various regions as well. Smaller or mission churches which may be in a rented space or another denomination's church tend to not have separation. At the Monastery (Convent) the nuns tend to sit in the south and everyone else s…
It was for a Master's in Coptic Orthodox Theology from an online university called Holy Sophia University in Connecticut, U.S.
The class was called, "Holy Liturgy II." It was the midterm. He required us to translate from French. Even a French pers…
He is asking if a General Bishop is present, which Hymn do we sing during the Feast of the Apostles? The specific hymn, I don't understand. When Coptic is in English letters, the vowels mess me up because I tend to use Italian pronunciation.
@RamezM
The major difference was the church would read significantly more psalms, prophecies the writings of St. John Crysosdom during Passion Week. It would have taken 3-4 hours just to do the readings minus the hymns!
All of the reading from th…

I have been taught in my seminary studies the Midnight Praises are USUALLY prayed in Monasteries, but MAY be prayed by an individual. I didn't mean to say they are only for Monasteries, but are mainly prayed in Monasteries. My bad. If he…
You don't need to be so technical. The Midnight Praises are meant for Monasteries. Pray the 3rd hour when you wake up and the Compline, or 12th hour before bed.
@Mabsoota
You are aware of the Coptic Reader, right? That has the NKJV of the Bible, which is a bit more modern. Pardon my interjection into this discussion. But, beneficent isn't an, "old word." You would benefit from studying Latin. I could be a b…
@minatasgeel
My father died a while back. So, my Priest has basically become my father, and Father. I am teaching my son to call him, "Abouna Gedo." Gedo baptized my child too. :-)
Congratulations! Enjoy the first year, because after that (if you'…
I did pray for you on the Altar. I didn't want to ask to pray for, "Do you like it?" That would be...odd. So, I just said the English lady who rides her bike and would probably feed me tons of biscuits and tea if I showed up at her door. I think He …
