Decided to post this on this thread because I didn't feel the query was worth a new thread. Does anyone know who this cantor is? I listen to him a lot, but don't know his name. http://tasbeha.org/media/index.php?st=Hymns/Fasts/Nativity/Higher_Instit…
By hormones I meant higher levels of estrogen or lower levels of testosterone, which may result in homosexual tendencies. Do you have any links or something where I could find more information?
@Amoni, I'm not really picking at the fact that they chanted the psalm, but more that they are taking their own freedoms and attempting to expand what they can do haphazardly. An Psaltos reading or serving on the altar is not exactly with tradition,…
Wow! I love that kiss of peace tradition.
I only have one problem with the female choir: it begins to lead to other things that may be a bit shocking to the Church or unacceptable. For instance, a couple of years ago in a church in Covina, some of t…
@Ioannes lol the way you said that was just hilarious. I am sure if you start a thread about each book, they will at least become popular on this site. Then each user will spread to their parish and so on.
I am a bit confused on how someone would get from being Orthodox and singing Protestant songs to being Protestant. This does seem a bit extreme. I am not calling you extreme. But this seems like a very large gap.
Ditto! I was just thinking about this yesterday. You the man, @coptic_deacon. There is a coptic notes app, but I, like you, would love to see a fully integrated keyboard.
@ophadece I have no idea what you look like, but sometimes I pronounce things in the Old Bohairic way, and I think of you and laugh. You're a fanatic, but the good kind
This was very helpful @Remnkemi. There were a lot of people at my church who were wondering, and I've already relayed the message to one of them. Thank you
Here is a link by Cantor Farag. http://tasbeha.org/media/index.php?st=Hymns/Annual/Congregation_Responses/Cantor_Farag_Abdelmessih/04.Al_el_qorban.1219.mp3
As we said before, it's just alleluia while Abouna is praying the inaudible prayers before pr…
@antonypaulDo you have any pdfs of abouna athanasius' books? You and abouna arsany speak about him in such a way, but the site does not contain a whole lot of info.
You were referring to how the cantors are not "Bibles." As you listed a few cantors as examples, you included Mikhail. In the case that we don't use Mikhail as a source, who would we use?
Referring back to @ophadece's comment, I'm confused on who we would use as a source past Cantor Mikhail. Who else is there? Sorry, I am not very educated on this matter.
I don't understand why there has to be so much confusion over the decisions of the Holy Synod. Can somebody enlighten me as to why there isn't some website where these decisions are posted for all to see?
Oh hahahahah
Knowing what danan is, I agree with you ophadece. And drew, so then why does albair leave out the circumcision? Where did this inconsistency come from?
Ramez, you rule man. Is there any way I can get this and show it to the priests and mu'allimeen at my church? Like documentation or something? And on that note, how can I know about decisions of the Holy Synod at all times?
It can be said during a few times of the year. Technically you can say it during any tasbeha when you say the wednesday theotokias. But it is usually reserved for greater ones such as during lent and kiahk. It is also said during the feasts of the L…
I agree with you @drewhalim. Although I think there should at least be a distinction between feasts that are necessary for salvation and ones that aren't. Either way, do you have a recording of how to sing it with the ascension and the entrance hymn…
