simplicity sounds good to me!
i think what matters is having the right respectful attitude, rather than worrying too much about the words.
on a language note, what do you mean by 'qabil el ayady' in this context?
it happens to me sometimes when it's my first message after i log on (so i didn't send any within 60 seconds).
i think the computer can tell the difference between priests and other people.
;)
we just get to learn more patience by putting up with t…
i have no idea, i just say 'salaam ya abouna, izayyak?'
which is almost as bad as english 'what's up, mate?'
:o
so i will watch this thread to see how to do it properly.
i noticed the priests in my church call each other 'odsak' (your holiness) but…
well, i always thought ilovesaintmark was younger than me (and i am younger than father peter), but i started the 'old' rumour because he was cheeky enough to try to get birthday wishes at the wrong time.
that is something a young person would do, s…
sorry, i shouldn't start rumours.
just i thought he was maybe around 30 so i added a few years...
samehni ya akhee sughayar :(
i think u r younger than me anyway.
may God preserve his life anyway and may he have many years of service to God.

every day, God brings new mercies into our lives. there are miracles everywhere.
it is once we see the miracle of the forgiveness God has given us, started loving God, our brothers and our enemies that our spiritual eyes will be opened.
as we gaze …
seriously though, usually you have to have finished your school (like about age 18) then done some kind of study (it can be a qualification for work, not everyone goes to college after high school) so that you understand what life is like outside a …
back to the original post;
these things can be sorted out with God's help, but it often takes a lot of time before everything is ok.
when we hurt someone, we can't fix things as quickly as we can mess them up, but we can do everything we can to show…
slow down, i'm trying to catch up!
it's official, i am younger than father peter ;)
ilovesaintmark, i heard you were about the same age, is that right?
we will pray for you lots and probably have some kind of party online, plus see who can write t…
i read the original post, so the answers do make sense.
sudani, i pray for you, you need to pray for people also and study the Bible and listen well in church as some of the answers you need may be just around the corner.
also the devil makes work for idle hands.
so work in the church, fix the garden for old ladies, clean the house for your parents etc. etc.
when you arrive home tired and just eat, pray and sleep, you don't have time for so many bad thoughts.
we are making progress.
keep working, keep praying and visit churches from the other group and talk to people there after and bring greetings from your church.
if everyone visited one church from the other group every year or two, it would make a hu…
i wasn't in a church that used proper Communion wine in those days... ;)
God has shown me the way since :)
i was going to reply to your thread separately, but i think/hope this may help here.
to continue...
1. (you guessed this one) sort out your relationship with God. ask all the difficult questions (does God exist? why can't i drink my brains out and party 24 hours a day? why is it useful to go to church?) and don't rest until you real…
i didn't see this thread till today, have been so busy/tired with work i didn't keep up my main hobby (this site!).
looking back, i remember i felt very nearly the same in my 1st year at university.
the first 2 terms were fine, i was just enjoying …
communication is a bit hit and miss, i've found.
please keep us posted (times, dates) with anything u hear about these kind of events, this forum is one of many good ways to communicate about these things.
the more we get closer to God (Bible study, prayer, talking about God with friends, Holy Communion), the more we instinctively know what is right.
the more we care for others and look after people, respect our family/church and not be selfish, the m…
yeah, like in rich countries today it is correct to say that people live to be 85.
but that doesn't mean no-one can live to 95 or 100, just that it is normal to live to 85 or less.
i am planning to live till tomorrow, at least ;)
there are lots and lots of people who changed religion and got married, from many countries.
like i have a friend from a Christian family who married someone who converted from buddhism to Christianity.
also some people gave them some trouble (there…
if there was a one day thing at the weekend, i would be interested.
august is usually an unstable, unpredictable, busy time for me, and it's usually crazy busy at work.
maybe several days spread out would be easier for people, so some would do begin…
someone i know well had a big problem with his girlfriend's mum. she was very possessive of her daughter and quite difficult. the 2 young people were so in love they decided to marry but the mum forbade it.
they decided to be good and wait.
after 2 …
