I quoted (in transliteration), verbatim. The clarification comes from the use "sahrit" = vigil, which would not be the Resurrection Matins.

Probably late 19th century and early 20th century, as part of the British influence on the elitist groups that were developing at the time. When you visit the monasteries, you will find that everything is set up to face the East, and there are no b…

Copticandproud, I don't know what you mean by the second part of your statement. Are you speaking of the physical chorus area? If so, there should be no seats and all should face the East. Seats are a modern novelty. If you are speaking of t…

Nahdat El kaneesa. It is an old printing from the 70's that I have here at this house.

I give you an "A", PeterA for that essay...well said.

They should face the East. Even the deacon calls out: Unto the East Look.

The only person with credible data of incidence of divorce is H.G. Bp Bula of Tanta. I feel so sorry for that man for what he has to endure relative to all of the cases that are presented to him. He never has a peaceful moment.

I am leaving the office. When I get home, I will try to give you exact pgs.

How about "girls choir"? or "female choir"? What is so difficult about using such a term?
-
Although, the use of terms such as "shammasa" and "deaconness" to denote a girl choir member has been allowed to propagate--which is inappropriate and wrong. I don't have anything against girl choirs. I do have a major problem with trying to veil…

I was talking about the State of California.

Ophadece (O.D.) is O.K. (affirmative) As for the Seven Tunes, I think it is a better translation than the Seven Ways. I think "Seven Ways" is a literal translation. In the Arabic I would expect that the paranthetical [Tunes] is implied. Because,…

Double wrong. The Left Coast is the problem. It follows the general American Trend. California is a bastion of liberalism. Its liberalism is a disease for the entire United States of America.
-
Yo Mina, I believe the entire Seven Tunes are chanted on Bright Saturday. It is only the abbreviated set that is done to the usual time constraints. The O.D. is O.K.

To God there is no differential in bestowing His Grace; He integrates His Mercy to our needs; and ultimately it all adds up to God's Love as the end result for that which we seek. You will do well. The Lord is always with you.

I seem to have missed that doxology? I think an encore is needed.

Actually, the other day I went to buy lamb for the family. I saw it had halal on it. I walked over to the manager that this was improper to shove someone's religion down my throat. He had me fill out a form to send to the home office. He said he…

Rabena mawgood. (God is present) (also meaning God is with us). Depending on how you want to translate it.

We all have to deal with our conscience. Example: On rare occasion, I will show up to Liturgy late. The matter is, relative to traffic, it may take me 3 to 3.5 hours to get to church. The priest will ask me to present my vestments, and I respect…

Priests and bishops are not the police. Deacons should take care of their own matters.

My dad would pull us out of schools for the whole Pascha Week. Homework and lessons were done in advance. There was no school during Pascha. We turned out okay. No chocolate means no chocolate. It only makes it sweeter when you have the chance to a…

Sorry Jimmy, I was not cognizant of the repetition. I will revise: I have been known to be an ape at times. I should not say that because that may lend validity to evolution. I look like a chimpanzee, which would definitely prove evolution. I l…

Although in my conduct I have been known to be a baboon at times. I should not say that because that may lend validity to evolution.

You mean like the atomic speck from which came the Big Bang. Something from nothing.

It is already being practiced. What do you mean is it goint to be...? It has become the 11th Commandment. Thou shalt be lazy and be heirs of procrastination.

I never sent you an email. You have not shown respect to anyone, especially God. I do not care if you respect me or not. Your assertions about God are categorically wrong. You may have your opinion, but it is wrong. My observations, although pai…
