Order of Matins & Vespers

Vesper
- The Service is prayed as usual, in Palm Sunday tune.
- The verses for the feast are added to the Verses of the Cymbals.
- The Doxology for the feast is chanted before the Doxology of St. Mary.
- After the rest of the doxologies are said, an ode (Doxology hymn) for the feast is chanted. (Optional).
- The Conclusion of the doxologies is chanted, followed by the Introduction of the Creed and the Creed.
- The priest prays Efnooti nai nan, and the congregation responds with Kerie Leison in the long tune.
- They then carry the Icon of Christ's Entry into Jerusalem along with the palms and olive branches and proceed around the Church three times while chanting Evlogimenos.
- The Exposition is read in Coptic (Mashenak) first and than Arabic or English.
- The priest prays the Litany of the Gospel and the Psalm is chanted in the festive tune.
- The Gospel is read, followed by the response to the Gospel, Shere Lazaros.
- The End of Service Hymn (Epshiri Emifnoti) is said.

Matins:
- The Service is prayed as usual, in the annual tune.
- The verses for the feast are added to the Verses of the Cymbals
- The Doxology for the feast is chanted before the Doxology of St. Mary
- The priest prays Efnooti nai nan and the congregation responds with kerie Leison in the long tune.
- They then carry the Icon of Christ's Entry into Jerusalem along with the palms and olive branches and proceed around the Church three times while chanting Evlogimenos.
- The Litany of the first Gospel is prayed and the Psalm and Gospel are read quickly.
- The Gospel response are chanted after everyone of the 12 gospel.

- At the end of the Procession, the Litany of the Matins Gospel is prayed and the Psalm is chanted in the festive (Singary) tune.
- The Response to the Gospel is said.
- The Gospel is read, followed by the Response to the Gospel.
- The service is concluded as described in Vespers.

Note: After the Morning Raising of Incense, the palms should be put aside in order to concentrate on the prayer of the Liturgy.
