Psalm & Gospel (of Matins - 1st Hour) :: Aier `m`vry]

English
Coptic
Arabic

I am like a man who has no strength, Adrift among the dead, Like the slain who lie in the grave. Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever. Arise for our help, And redeem us for Your mercies' sake. Alleluia.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them." The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.

On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, "Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise.' Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away,
