  • If I have gotten any wrong end of any stick I ask forgiveness. I felt some were, whoever it may have been were taking my desire for a hood as not serious due the fact that I'm married and in their eyes, not able to have one. Anyway, the Coptic chur…

  • When we speak, we should speak plainly. We should not have a tone to it. I speak in love and honesty over the hood. Whether we agree or not agree with why I wish one to have one. Coptic priests who I know, know me well. We love and respect each oth…

  • Agree, to agree to disagree :) Im pleased those who seek, and have had time with their Fr have been richly rewarded.
  • My thoughts and words are never to offend, but gently look at the word of God, Gods own words and be guided by Him. Traditions of man are important but they should never come at the cost of Gods own words.
  • Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. ... God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."   The New Testament Church is a group of peo…
  • With respect, I never disrespected the building, I wanted us to realise, as I'm sure you do, the people are the church and we have to be careful we dont worship the cup rather than the contents of the cup, for if you see my meaning?
  • But the church is not bricks and cement it is the people. Christ being the head of the church, the saints, the people :)
  • I listen to all that many have said, and i for one do miss going to church to be with others and worship, shoulder to shoulder, but please dont forget the church is not a building, the church is the body of believers who worship in a building called…
  • Yes, to that last sentence. Yes, the hood is as others have stated, and have similar is for that reason, as i do have a skull cap from Rome, which was presented to me, which i do wear....legally :))

  • I was not ordained onto the Coptic Church. I lead a personal life , as best I can in a kind of reclusive manner when at home. I spend that time in prayer, study etc.. I'm quite happy to be on my own for weeks at time. With my bible, hourly offices.

  • Unsure the relevance to my question,??

  • I had no issues with the word Napkins. Communion cloth i know of. I was totally lost with Corporal as even that word here is not used, not even in the RCC. The hood was something that im sure with help i will locate, it does not mean im a monk, or e…

  • Thank you. They will be placed in my oratory as such.  Would it be so wrong of me to ask where i might purchase, if is possible a Qalansuwa. ( Monks hood). Im aware they can be brought from monastery's in Egypt, the shops within??
in Napkins Comment by Ricci May 9
  • Yes, thank you. Im aware of the rites you mention. But as i received these in the post, and in great number i wanted to be sure i knew the exact meaning, as they are so beautifully made. I presume there are no personal napkins, just a mass of them w…

  • So, with all respect can we not live as they did? in that i mean, Paul set many churches up, this we have to agree. He also set in order how all these independent churches were to be organised. Elders, Deacons etc.  Paul and others were quite happy …

  • Thank you again. But, yes there is my question, which you have answered in part with what we have now, but when i mentioned Apollos in Acts 18, Paul in ch 22, no such things were in place as we have them today, so, disciples baptized disciples who p…

  • Thanks for all the feedback. My aim was to see, according to what we read, who can baptize. In the case of Apollos, i believe he was baptized into Christ by Aquila before they may have become a deacon or priest, as the text infers such. Church tradi…
