Yo sabeho wa magido

edited December 1969 in Random Issues
During the thrid hos on bright saturday we sing "yo sabiho wa magido..." in between verses. Can anyone give me the full song in english lettering of the arabic words? Also, can you give me an english translation?
thanks

  • there are 2 main version. this is the most famous; the one that my church says:

سبحوه، مجدوه، زيدوا علوا إلى الأبد رحمته.
    فهو المُسبح، والمُمجد، والمُتعالي على الدهور، وإلى الأبد رحمته.

Praise Him, glorify Him, and exalt Him, His mercy is forever.
For He is praised, glorified, and exalted above the ages, His mercy is forever.

Sabbeho, maggedo, zedoho 'lowan e-lal-abad rahmeto.
    Fa-howal-mosabah, wal-mo-maggad, wal-mota'alee 'alal-dohoor, wa-elal-a-bad rahmeto.

    (so there is noo "yo")
  • Or you can recite the exact translation from the greek refrain:

"Bless the Lord all you works of the Lord, praise him and exalt him above all forever."

    well you're right.

But don't forget...you read the arabic/english first and then chant the whole hoos in it's special tune. so it makes sense to have like another full refrain for the arabic. you can always chant the hoos in english and say that translation....but that would be weird because you just read it in that language.
