Angel of death

i was wondering if any of u have any information on the Angel of death or sites that might talk about him. I know he exist because of his bieng in egypt to curese the pharoh and help the jews escape but thats all i can find in the bible.

    I read a book called "The Angels" by H. H. Pope Shenouda III and remembered reading the following:


    We read in the story of the rich man and Lazarus that the rich
    man died and w as buried. But the poor Lazarus "died, and was carried
    by the angels to Abraham's bosom" (Luke 19:42).
    That does not mean that the angels carry all the souls of the dead,
    but only the souls of the righteous. Satan takes hold of the souls of the
    wicked and brings them down with him into hell.
    We remark that in Christianity, there is no angel of death named
    Azarael who captures the souls of the dead. This name absolutely does
    not exist among the names of the angels.

    I think this is saying there is no Angel of Death? If I am wrong and offended anyone, please forgive me.

    The info regarding the Angel of Death, Azarael, can be found on "page 15" under the title "Other Jobs".

    Btw, here is the verse from Exodus 12:23 from the NKJV of the Bible:

    For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

    i dont know i think there is but maybe its all in how u translate ancient hebrew scriptures
