Improvement to Youth meetings

ok guys...ma church neeeeds serious help in the organisation of our youth meeting...at da moment it is under new management and we need LOTS AND LOTS of ideas of how to improve our youthmeeting...

the amount of people comin is declining every week...

ok at the moment..all we do is...Pray from the agbya, then we would have our meeting (ususally it would be servants from other churches, Abouna or random people specialising in certain subjects) afta that we sorta stay outside play basketball for a while, chat wateva...


sometimes we may have like a time where we would eat or like say happy b day to some1...

sometimes (n imean rarely) we would have a prayer meeting or art n craft or like trivia questions....

it may sound goos but this is not enough...

we need encouragement...

if any1 had ideas (either the type of food; in this case it is on a friday so fasting food, any presents we give out or anything that goes through that head or urs) or tell me of what they do in ur youth meeting...that would be greatly appreciated...

    Well, in my church's Youth Meetings, first we have a song session to wait for every1 to settle in, then we pray 1 prayer from the Agpeya, and then any servents or abuna gives announcements (as in like, wat trips ar comin up, details about them, price...)
    Then we get sent to our sunday school classes, where a servent prepares a lesson for us, and shares it with the class. ( each sunday school class is divides on the different grades, and the number of ppl in 1 room per servent)
    Then after that, you can play in the gym, or eat in the cafeteria, or attend tasbeha!!

    well at my church first we read an hour from the agbeya. Then we sing a song or two depending on how much time abouna needs (he's usually talking to someone or doing something). Then abouna gives like, a lecture or a sermon, but its not like a wa'zza, more like an open discussion. After that we have tasbeha....

    Ok, I'm not in the youth meetings for our church, but I think that you guys could add some feildtrips, like going to other churches to see what it's like. Or, spend a night in the monastery.

    You could also have a person doing the topic. That way they can reflect on people their own age. I agree with "whY" because you could do tasbeha.org. Also, I think our church takes our youth onto camp and they have meetings there and lunch together and lots of fun. That's just some of the many things you could do.

    well the youth meetings i have gone to are very boring not the singing but the reading is so long and u get hungry :'(

    My youth meeting sounds similare to everyone here. An idea that i have is to change the atmosphere of the cherch. For example, you could dim the lights in the church. 8)

    Thats cool of All nations and if you ar bored, Adeodatus, then make some suggestions. Make a meeting for suggestions.

    well our youth meetings are kind of like that to and we are tring to make it better maybe you guys should make it more interesting by getting a cool servant to tell you the lesson :) ;) :-*

    Youth meeting are going downhill... and will keep going downhill... and I can guarantee that for you... and I don’t blame the youth for not going... why the hell do I need to stay in a meeting for almost two hours... to be lectured and lectured.. and lectured... if I need that... I'd take courses in theology... and at least I would have an extra degree... youth meetings are for the youth to get close to God... get the youth any way you can... show them that you care about them.... and teach in the right way... its good you have a day for games and crap... but why not have them go in groups... teach themselves by themselves... the only way we will have a successful youth meeting is if you start a youth meeting, attended by the youth led by the youth... and it will surely be enjoyed by the youth... don’t get a freekin uncle to talk for hours about _______... I'll stop here... lol

    come again! the youth everywhere are hungry... and when not fed... they fulfil it with other means... I blame the churches and their leaders... 20 people in a youth meeting are not enough... not even if its 50... the church on average has more than 200 youth... where are they... where have they all gone... its a shame... truly it is a shame...

    sorry but the youth in the church are difficult they wouldnt come unless u drove a bus to their house and dropped u off at church...and fed them free pizza....

    seriously...i need ideas...creative one...nw they can be in detail.....

    um...let me start an idea...but this is for very little kids meeting...like kindy...they were learning about elish (i think it is him) that made the poor womens last oil and flour Flourish....

    while they were learning the story...they were making bread with oil and FLOUR....

    NOW THAT IS A GOOD IDEA>>.but not suitable for teenagers....

    so i want something like that if u have
