edited May 2015 in Personal Issues
Hi everyone!
I have committed 3 very big sins and I am very afraid to tell abouna. I always go to abouna for confession every week but I am too embarrassed to tell him what shall I do?? Pray for me please, I am very upset and stressed as well.

  • Dear dann,

    May the Lord comfort you.  Please tell Abouna now as otherwise it will be on your mind for ages, and you'll have to tell him sooner or later.
    If you feel too embarrassed, may I suggest writing it down and giving it to Abouna to read?
  • Dann,
    There is nothing you can say or nothing you have done that has not been done and confessed at least a dozen times before to every single priest in the world. You will not tell him nothing new that will shock your priest. Feelings of embarrassment and guilt are the consequences of sin and the tools of the devil. The only way to break the burden of sin is to confess. Once this happens you will feel the incredible liberation from sin that comes through God's mercy. Find any way to tell your priest and look forward to the great liberation and freedom from sin rather than the anxiety it takes to tell Abouna.
  • Well done for wanting to confront your sins and confess them.

    Isaiah 55:6-7

    6 Seek the Lord while He may be found,

    Call upon Him while He is near.

    7 Let the wicked forsake his way,

    And the unrighteous man his thoughts;

    Let him return to the Lord,

    And He will have mercy on him;

    And to our God,

    For He will abundantly pardon.

    Today is the day of salvation get right with God today and continue tommorow just in case and the day after until the Lord finds you ready whether there is greater rewards or not there is no sorrow in heaven and pray for me a big sinner.  If we do this we shall rejoice together in heaven laborer and harvest

  • Thank you for all your support, God bless you all!

    Your welcome but no one should tempt the Lord be watchful from now on

    James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

    My name apromise is deceiving I can not promise anything
    Fact is people who look at pornography are also headed to hell St Peter says add to self control perseverance and so an entrance shall be supplied to you in the kingdom
    only the Lord knows when someone is ready and He promised He is coming at an hour we do not expect getting right with God does not mean simply saying one is sorry and believing in Jesus it means always being watchful
    Jesus is coming for the His bride even if they be few
    Jesus said to listen to the pharisees those who sit in the law of Moses now that is protestants even though they are not going to heaven they say and do not do some pretend to be honest but do not even join the church but only God knows where they are going I think one should listen to protestants even as my confession father said take the good and leave the bad
    I should note people naybe should still fear we may go to heaven even if we sometimes look at pornography maybe it is not a promise we are going to hell
    Also if I am righteous my prayers may help to a degree for others
    I don't mean for anyone to give up hope I may not be saying all the truth plus our repentance may cause God to give grace for others to be ready

    I know the bible says the righteous man may fall seven times and get up again. But how does one know he is getting up? I guess feeling sorry each time is getting up but I got some of my thoughts from the above video. St Paul says you sorrowed in a godly manner what diligence it produced in you what clearing of yourselves. St John says if we sin we have an advocate with the Father so I don't know which one is true. If we feel sorry each time and we plan on repenting I think we are justified. If we are not sinning with planning God will be more patient. I guess this protestant confused me

    I know listening to protestants may give you some false ideas you must also listen to our clergy. But even the clergy are not infallible. Jesus said call no one on earth your teacher but Jesus
    We know the pharisees added to the law of moses but they sometimes said the truth the same is with protestants
    St Paul said whether they preached christ in pretense or in truth I rejoice

    Phillipians 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former[a] preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

    protestants do not preach from good will unless they are honest believing in the orthodox church and are trying to support the church like the man who cast demons out of people but did not follow the disciples but he believed in Jesus and was ignorant he needed to join the church. Also Paul did not say they are saved but they preach in good will

    1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

    It seems Jesus died for every sin someone in the world commits so all they have to do is die believing in the Lord Jesus and have a proper baptism and taken the body and blood if one is orthodox and we do not know about those outside and we also don't know when we will die

    I am so sorry for flooding your thread the mdoerator can delete all my posts or what he wants
