"In your birth you kept the virginity, and in your departure you have not left the world O Theotokos. For you have departed to the eternal life; through your intercessions, save our souls from death"

Something about the last line doesn't feel right to me. Can someone please this to me, the only explanation I could think of is that we change who we are talking to.

  • I think you're taking it out of context. You should have bolded through your intercessions, save our souls from death.

    I think it's just asking for her intercession before God, to ask Him to save us from death.
