a stranger like my fathers
today's vespers psalm is beautifully discussed in a poem by our dearly loved baba shenouda:

Psalm 39:12
Hear my prayer, O LORD,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were.
may our Lord give him peaceful rest, and may he intercede for us before the throne of grace.
