Coptic Orthodox Bible Commentary

edited December 1969 in Faith Issues
Hi,

What is the recommended Orthodox Bible Commentary? Is there a commentary available that explains what the Church fathers said about EACH word in the Gospels, and the Old Testament?

I'm ok if there's just a general Orthodox version; that would be good as well.

Thanks

  • There are many, if you are looking within the Coptic Church only, Abouna Tadros Malaty has numerous commentaries on both books of the Old and New Testament. If you are looking for straight patristics, there are a few that you can on www.orthodoxbookstore.org , they are called Ancient Christian Commentaries, here is a direct link:

I'm not sure how you can get ahold of them other than this site but if you can I've heard these are great.

His Holiness has a few commentaries on books of the Bible as well but I don't think they are as thorough as these will be patristic wise.
