God's Love

edited December 1969 in Random Issues
Hey guys

During Sunday school last week we got to the topic of Angels, and we were talking about the angels jobs and stuff,
and it got me thinking about something and i wanted to share it with you all :)

Did you guys know that God put Archangel Micheal and his angels in charge of our protection, I mean think about it, The Leader of the Angels Micheal is in responsible for us! God put His top angel to protect us. He created the mighty angels  (who unlike us do not sin) to protect us. What does that tell us about His love!! I mean when i thought about this the first time i felt so bad, we are truly unworthy of this love, we sin daily and from the beginning, even before He created us, He created Archangel Micheal for us!

Just wanted to share that with you :)

  • not to burst ur buble or anything, GOD SENT DOWN HIS OWN SON to give us SALVATION... now THAT is LOVE... (i am not saying anything against the Angels or anything).

sorry, i know its a bit rough, and you had good intentions and all, but it kinda sounded like u were saying like its the ULTIMATE LOVE... i am not saying its not, but i am saying that the PLAN FOR SALVATION IS THE ULTIMATE LOVE... to die for us... like GOD dies for us...
  • well if that doesnt make you feel that he loves you lol then ok but to me it made me feel great that he would do that

Not to take away from the crucifixion of course
  • If he loved us so much, he wouldn't allow suffering and allow whole bunch of people to go to hell.

I don't think he loves us at all.  At least not until we have 'free will' which will be in 20 years.
  • you obviously haven't heard the barber's story: (this is a little bit altered so it fits the topic better)

one day, while a christian was cutting his hair, he was talking to the barber, and things lead each other to the topic of God, and the barber said: GOD DOESN'T EXIST, ANd HE DOESN'T LOVE US... so the guy was shoked, and obviously said, BUT HE DOES EXIST and He DOES LOVE US. but then the barber replied and said: If GOD existed then there wouldn't be sooo many dying people,AND THESE PEOPLE PERISHING AND GOING TO "HELL". as the barber concluded this sentence, it was the end of the hair cut, and the guy left, without finishing the discussion.
Later on that day, the same christian guy walked into the barber's shop and said: You know what? Barbers don't exist... so the barber clearly surprised, said: How come, you are looking at me, aren't ya? you're standing in my shop... so the christian guy answered, and said: Well, if barbers existed, there wouldn't be and homless hairy people, with dirty, filthy hear, and unshaved beards. So the barber answered defensivly:
ITS NOT MY FAULT THEY CHOOSE NOT TO COME TO ME, THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO BE CLEAN... so the Christian guy answered and said: ITS tHE SAME CONCEPT, ITS THEIR FAULT THEY DON'T WANT TO GO TO GOD, TO GO TO HIS LOVE, WHERE THEY WOULD BE SAVED.

its the same concept, He loves us, all these people going to hell aren't forced to go there, they have/had the choice, the Church is open to them, Bibles are readily available, they are given out in Parades, given out FREE... its got nothing to do with GOD's love,

John 3:16 (New King James Version)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

    1 John 3
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God![a] Therefore the world does not know us,[b] because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Sin and the Child of God

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
    The Imperative of Love

10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother[c] abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
    The Outworking of Love

16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we know[d] that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us[e] commandment.
The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error

24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
  • great answer, coptic pharoah.
hallemikael, where did you get this idea about us only having free will in 20 years' time?
this is not in the Bible. we all have free will, this is why we are writing about this topic, it is something we can do.
eg i can choose to write more, or i can choose to go to bed because it's late and i have church tomorrow.
    (i chose the last one!)
    Zzzz....
  • awesome reply CP

    God Bless
and Mabsoota is right by the way the thinking that we do not have free will is not taught in the bible
