Abstaining/Fasting

Does anyone know the "rules" for fasting (abstaining from food for a certain amount of time)?  Does this include water?  When are we suppose to fast until during Great Lent?

Please pray for me and for a beneficial Great Lent!!

    Abstinent fasting during the fast is a time that your father of confession sets for you, but the canon time is 3pm and yes that includes fasting from water aswell. God bless

    ok thanks, because i injured my knee about a month ago and i am going through physical therapy, do you think it would be ok to just have some water afterwards?
    i understand that abstinence is not suppose to be a punishment but a path to rigteousness

    Talk to your FOC and tell him your circumstances, he will tell you whats ok and what isn't
