Conversations with God

Has anyone read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch?

I'm kind of confused by it ... does the Church approve of this book?
does anyone know?

  • Hi! I read this book a long time ago so i don't really remember the details but I dont remember anything that stood out to me in opposition to church teachings. In all honesty, I liked the book! Is there anything in particular that you disagree with or find confusing?

  • I would very much not encourage any Orthodox young person to read anything by this writer.

He is a non-Christian heretic, though he often uses the language of the Christian faith. He teaches that all is one - pantheism, and that Christ, Buddha and Mohammed are all Saviours.

I urge anyone considering reading anything by this author not to do so.

There are so many worthwhile and sound books written by Orthodox writers that it is not wise for so many to read books by Protestants, and even by those outside the Christian faith altogether.

Let us all be careful and exercise discretion in what we read and watch, and ask the guidance of our spiritual fathers.
