2 Corinthians 2:10 (King James Version)

10To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

Can someone explain this verse? do we as members of the church have authority to forgive people (other church members) their sins they commit against God if the priest trusts us or something?

  • I think this was specificaly to the disciples, and since priests are from the disciples, they are the one who are able to forgive...anyone feel free to correct me on that.
  • I think it means that God forgives you when you forgive others and this may've been aimed for the disciples. But for sure the first part is for all of us. I don't think all of it is to ONE person who can forgive people. That's just what I think though becuase everyone can forgive people through people to people, BUT no way is there anyone who can get rid of all of it except GOD. That's just all I think. I hope I made some sense.

    love lots,
