Marriage help

Hello!

So my significant other is currently in the process of converting to the Coptic Orthodox Church and we are planning to get engaged soon. I am stressed because his mom passed away when he was very young and then his dad ended up remarrying…a man. I don’t even know how to have this conversation with my parents or Abouna. Anyone go through something like this? Any advice or words of encouragement it’s appreciated.

Please speak to abouna before committing to such a lifelong decision.. Just pluck up your courage, even if you don't get anyone else's experience.. God bless you and pray for me..

it is now 17 years since i joined the orthodox church (yay!) so i may have some useful tips.
