Pope Botros the seal of the martyrs

Hi all,
In the hagiography of Pope Botros the seal of the martyrs it says that the faithful took his body after he had been beheaded and put it on the See of St Mark that he had avoided sitting on during his life.. So any ideas how that could have happened? Would they have sown the head back on the body? Or placed it next to the body? What do you think?

    don't think they would have sewn it back. probably but it in a bag next to the body.
    may the prayers of the great patriarch peter and patriarch celestine + all the saints all be with us
