Hello Everyone.
Thanks to the grace of God, the youth in Townsville Australia have been blessed with our very own church; Saint Mary and Saint George's Coptic Orthodox Church. We are the first Coptic Orthodox church in Sothern Queensland. Also in Townsville is James Cook University. Roughly 15 students come here to study in the fields of speech pathology, medicine, science and on the university's other campus (3 hour drive away) 10 or so dentistry students. We also have three young families and a handful of Coptic youth who are involved in the Australian Army who attend services. Previous to having our own church on roughly a monthly basis, we would have to hire a chapel and have the blessing of a priest fly up and allow us to have Holy Communion for the last six years. This church has been a huge blessing to us the students and the families here. We would like you all to keep Saint Mary and Saint George’s Coptic Orthodox Church Townsville in your prayers and pray that we remain strong and thrive.
