History of the Three Schools of Hymns

Can anyone explain to me the History of three schools of hymns?

Also does anyone know whether mlm. Alabir Gamal has written any books on the History of Coptic Hymns and particularly on the History of the Three Schools (Cairo, Upper Egypt, Alexandrian)?

    I think "the three school of hymns" are not really three...i think it was always 7 based from the 7 great canters back then. We only got to 2 of them, one is M Takla, main teacher of M Mikhail and another i don't remember his name.

    I originally heard from mlm. Albair Gamal that there are three and that they have some differences. I would love to know how they came about... whether it was due to the different moallems like Mina said or something that happened in history. Does anyone know??
