The Fathers on different feelings/emotions
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows what are the fathers sayings on feelings and emotions. A former FoC of mine, often insisted to avoid the word 'feel'. I personally grew up with the impression that with emotions, one isn't truly oneself. Yet, Ecclesiastes 3 talk about how there are different seasons for different situations. However, are feelings and emotions bad or preferably avoided? By avoiding being in touch with emotions, is one priving himself from certain pleasure of life that God offers?
Note: When referring to emotions, I do not refer to relationships perse, but all different types of emotions in general.
