Hey guys i had a question if we sing Kiahk praises during Kiahk which is the month where we praise St Mary should we also be praising her during her fast?
Shouldn't we be singing Kiahk hymns during the fast?

Kiahk Praises are specifically dedicated for the month of Kiahk only, in some coptic orthodox books they refer to the month of Kiahk as the Month of Saint Mary (El Shahr El Mariamy). You shouldn't be saying the Kiahk praises during the fasting of St Mary.  St Mary's Fast has it's special hymns, like Atai Parthenos, Shere Theotoke, Rashe Ne etc. Hope this helps :)

agreed.....only some songs or madayeh that can be said in Saint Mary's fast that are also in Kiahk.....but that is based on what's in books.

Isn't Kiahk more focused on the birth of Christ through Saint Mary when Saint Mary's fast is focused on her life?
