Assignment Questions

edited December 1969 in Faith Issues
Hello brothers & sisters in Christ,
I am taking a religion elective in university and we have a 50-question assignment to submit. I have most of them answered; however, I am remain somewhat unsure about the following:

1) How many tribes returned to Israel/Judah after the Babylonian exile, and which?
2) Identify one major difference between the prophets Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
3) How many gates are listed in Ezekiel’s vision of the city of Jerusalem (Ezk. 48), and what do they represent?
4) According to biblical tradition, how many tribes entered the Promised Land?

I would really appreciate any help I can get. Thank you, pray for me. :)

  • 1)According to Ezra1:1-5 ; I guess only three;judah , benjamin and Levi.

    2) I think Jeremiah prophecy was more on the house of Israel and Ezekiel's on Judah

    3) 12 gates,probably representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

    4) I guess all 12 tribes. There seems to be no indication in the OT where God forbade  a tribe from entering the promised land. The older generation did not get to see it, though.

Someone more knoweldgebale should come forward and explain more.
  • Thanks for your help Mozes,
I turned in the assignment :)
