New Song

edited December 1969 in Hymns Discussion
Hey everyone,
I don't know if anyone has heard this, it's a song I think Antoun made it starts after 2:47

I was wondering if someone could translate it into english and post the words here. Thank you!

  • It is a poem for the Pope named "Qasedat Abtal"=poem of Champions/Heros.
He wrote it a long time ago for all the martyrs of the Church...in the video they many parts of the original poem....i'll have most of it soon.

  • [right]القرار:

    (rough translation)
    Refrain:
You received the glory in the world and through religion
And you mocked the atheist tyrants
(O Heroes, you have not died, but) 2
You have dwelt in the heaven of the immortals.

He did not die, who offered his spirit upon / the altar of truth, daring and unrelenting.
He did not die, a stranger here / who passed the world as the passage of visitors.
He did not die, who through his martyrdom, / became a role-model remaining on over the years.
Whatever the reason for death, we / cannot count them among the dead.
O Heroes, you have not died, but / You have dwelt in the heaven of the immortals.

    (Refrain)

With strong faith it is possible / for the dead to return and the weak to be healed.
Inspire us with your godliness, for / the world has darkened and the godly ones decreased.
Whenever we remember you, / the heart beats and it seeks kindness.
O Heroes, you have not died, but / You have dwelt in the heaven of the immortals.

    (Refrain)
