Hi everyone,
I was reading in the other thread about gambling/lottery and how the money isnt earned honestly and through hard work. So it made me think what about law suits or things similar; what is the church's view on it? For example, you go into a store you get hurt and you sue the company, this I understand that you deserve since you need the money for treatment and compensation. But lets say you are harassed at work for any reason, or you were racially discrimnated against as a customer. Is it morally right for me to pursue a compensation? What does the church say in regards to that?
I know I mentioned only a few examples, but here in the US and in Europe, it is very easy to file a law suit. Please share your opinion in regards to that matter especially if you know the church rules or have had experience with similar situations.

I know we don't believe in evolution... but I was wondering (since it's soo hard to disprove evolution, and also yet prove it) about many general questions. Apparently I don't know enough of evolution to be able to defend our faith -which I am thankful to God for he gives all things within his will and in due time. All we look like to them [evolutionists] is crazy fanatics, that have no science based backround. I was watching videos on youtube to keep what I said to my friend that to be a true sciencist you need to look at both sides without a bias. Unfortuneately I have many bias's against evolution but not for the science-based evidence against it -like a true sciencist would do, except it won't be a "bias", but rather for my anger and hate in the fact that I can't defend against it. For examples their: fossel records; bacteria; many more which i will bring up in this discussion.

Please pray for me!

The site I have linked is clearly not for everyone so I have deleted it to save any further hassles and claims of "a waste of time". Suit yourselves I guess and keep listening and watching music videos of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jay Z and all those others and be engulfed in their disgustingly obvious Satanic messages and symbolism as much as you want, including the subliminal and disgustingly obvious ones-- after all its all your subconcious you have to mend when you start to mold according to them!! Whatever! It seems those who want to avoid the truth will go to any lengths to rationalise what is happening. Music these days is not like that for no reason.

Why don't songs make sense when you listen to them (but are catchy) and why do people think that music videos are "weird" (but are 'captivating' and different and 'creepy')?

Because Satan is in charge. What do you think Satan's specialty was when he was the angel Lucifer in heaven? Music.

"Your pomp* is brought down to Sheol**,
      And the sound of your stringed instruments;
The maggot is spread under you,
      And worms cover you.’ "
Isaiah 14:11

*Pomp= magnificent display
**Sheol= underworld

THIS IS THE FIRST VERSE IN THE BIBLE THAT BEGINS TO DESCRIBE THE ANGEL LUCIFER WHO IS NOW SATAN. ITS ALL SELF EXPLANATORY AND EQUALLY OBVIOUS>> IF HIS SPECIALTY IN HEAVEN WAS MUSIC, WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD BE HIS TOOL ON EARTH??
In addition to this the universality of media and communication technologies are way too convienent. Ipods, mp3 sticks, the radio, the TV, the internet, magazines, phones, fashion, newspapers, the cinemas, billboards and advertisements. How convienient. How very convienient.

Look at the opening lyrics of Umbrella by Rihanna:

“No clouds in my stones
Let it rain, I hydroplane in the bank
Coming down with the Dow Jones”
When the clouds come we gone, we Rocafella

We fly higher than weather
And G5’s are better, You know me,
an anticipation, for precipitation. Stacked chips for the rainy day
Jay, Rain Man is back with little Ms. Sunshine
Rihanna where you at?

?? ??WHO SAYS THAT, WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT?? ?? Its absolute nonsense (and its not like that for no reason and accompanied with the video imagery is worse) and yet, how many youth know this song, perhaps even off by heart and it wrenches my heart especially when the meanings are clearly anti-Christian and it is happening and young people are being mind controlled and to an extremity, possessed, apparent through fashion, terminologies, gestures, involvement in lustful things, and satanic thoughts such as suicide. Don't wait for fireworks, the end of the world is near.

People who have wisely withdrawn from the music industry have much to say.

But again I say, suit yourselves!

Hi everyone,
Its been a while and I hope all of you are fine.

Could someone tell me if English (or subtitled) programming is available on CTV and Aghapy TV. I have a very basic understanding of spoken Arabic and would be eager to view Coptic Orthodox programming.

We receive a host of Evangelical channels through a European satellite network and my wife is a regular viewer. I found that by re-orienting the satellite dish, I could replace this network with the one hosting CTV & Aghapy without telling my wife, of course. ;D I know its a cruel prank but I don't want her to watch the stuff that's incompatible with Orthodox faith.

Of course I would be fuming if someone did such a thing to me. Ideally, we shouldn't be depending on TV or the net for our spiritual needs. But these evangelical shows have a way of luring viewers and portraying traditional Christianity in poor light. Hence my concern at the potential problems it could lead to.

God bless you all,
rpm

I recently told my mum that I wanted to get a dog and live single in an appartment because I'm not up for a relationship. I am also not up for being a nun (although I wanted to be one earlier in my life). When I said this to my mum she said "No, you must get married."

I asked "Whats wrong with being single?" And my mum couldn't reply without mentioning 'what people would think at church and what family friends would think'

I just want to ask all of you whats so wrong about living a single life. I want to understand where my mum is coming from, but I can't be satisfied with an answer "what people would think".
