First of all, happy Easter to all of you!

In order to learn Coptic more thoroughly, I have downloaded the Bible in Coptic, and I want to put the Coptic Bible next to the English Bible.

I've started with Psalm 1. Personally, I think this is a good way to learn Coptic. I hope to make pdf's of every Psalm that we use in the Agpeya, once a week, if the demand is high enough. You can learn more Coptic words by comparing the Coptic verses with the English verse. If you know the basic of grammar, it should be easy to figure out what every word means.

http://aigyptos.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/coptic-psalms-psalm-1.pdf

You can download parts of the Bible in Coptic here:

http://fontwords.com/stuff/biblical-textual-data/coptic-new-testament

Learn Coptic by reading the lessons from user epchois_nai_nan here:

Lesson 0.5 - Alphabet and Pronunciation: http://tasbeha.org/content/community/index.php/topic,10616.0.html
Lesson 1 - 'The': http://tasbeha.org/content/community/index.php/topic,10615.0.html
Lesson 2 - The 'Weak' Definite Article: http://tasbeha.org/content/community/index.php/topic,10625.0.html
Lesson 3 - Possession: http://tasbeha.org/content/community/index.php/topic,10643.0.html

Don't you think that this is a type of a miracle or something? I mean I can understand that some people can memorise hymns easily, but how can a 19 year old guy memorise all these hymns?? according to what Cantor Tawfik say in his interview, he says that Cantor Mikhael used to know many other hymns that are not available nowadays becuase he didn't have the time to teach therm to his students & he said that one of these hymns is the long alleluia introduction to the annual psalm 150 of distribution. mmm.................Just wondering that's all, what do you think?

Ok, so this is a really rare event. The GroundBreaking of my church is on Sunday. The problem is I have only attended one of these in my whole life and i was only like 8 or 9 years old. I would like to know if there is a place where i can find the rites and hymns that are said for the ground breaking of the church.

It would be helpful to me if some folk could list the full order of the services for Holy Week from Holy Thursday evening onwards.

In my small Church we have tried to do a more and more complete round of services as our congregation has grown, but it would be useful to have a full list of all the services to compare with what we are doing this year. What is your church doing and at what times?

Father Peter
